Leaving Lower with Non-FFL for Engraving
Hey guys, I'm getting conflicting info here. We've got a local trophy shop that can do the engraving (and get the correct depth). I know of course I can wait there and have them do it, no concern about that. Buddy wants to get one of his lowers done, but can't wait there. Reading some other posts, p...

Re: Any major changes to the NFA laws?
FYI, just got my latest form 1 e-approval. Submitted 11/06, approved 12/12. So just a shade over 30 days right now. Beats the s--t out of 4 months though

My latest form 4 was 4 months door to door, got it back a couple weeks ago. Now if I can just scrounge some cents for another rifle can to get started on that form

Re: Do you have any problems feeding using non brass ammo for full auto use?
When I had my M11/9 (both stock and with AMP11 upper), it ate every single thing I fed it with the exception of some bad Monarch ammo (primer hits, but no bang). Steel, brass, aluminum...round, flat, jhp. No problemo.

Still good, pushed back to at least May 2015.
Wait times are down too of course. Form 1s somewhere in the vicinity of 30 days (Eform). My last form 4 I got back a week ago or so was 4 months door to door (paper).

Re: how many signatures equired on trust?
Here in Texas, Property Code 112.001, there is no mention of even having it notarized, let alone witnesses.
That being said, good idea to have the trustees sign it and get it notarized. Forget the witnesses.

First off, how dare you run that filthy Remington Subsonic through that gun and can
Kidding aside, that was an enjoyable video. I run the Savage MkII FVSR with my Spectre II, probably my favorite combo right now, stuff is ridiculous.
How do you like the Marlin overall?

You trying to add it to the line on the firearms section or after you click Finish on that and then add it to the Electronic Documents section?
I was trying the first, it kept failing. Worked fine on the E docs part though.

Re: Narrowed it down to 2 cans
Decided on the YHM from Capitol Armory even though it's NOT 300WM rated. It's actually supposed to be quieter than their full length can on 300BLK. I'm not sure how, but that's what they claim. Anyways, it comes with a QD and is the lighter of the two. Going to run it on a Radical 8.5" upper w...

Indeed, call them up, tell them you'd like to check status on a form you've got in. Give them serial #, dealer name, and trust name.
They'll tell you what's up. When it went pending, who it's with, if it's in problem status, whatever.

Re: Trust changes now happening in January?
There was a post on FB (NFA Guns page) yesterday, subsequently removed I guess, about what he's going through right now. Short of it, sold guns, took money out of retirement, working 3 jobs to make customers whole (refunds as necessary). Sucks what some customers have gone through, s--t happens, at ...

Re: osprey 9mm vs 45
I think the host is a bigger factor than the difference between the two cans. This. My 9 is in jail for another month or so I think, but like somebody else mentioned, keep the size in mind too. 9 is an inch shorter, which doesn't seem like much, but it's noticeably more compact. Also, this: https:/...

Re: ATF eForms is alive!
The real question is, if they do manage to push through their rule changes on trusts/corp. needing photos, fingerprints, and CLEO, how could they make that comparable with the electronic system? I don't see an easy way to do that... Another case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is d...

My latest stamp (early March) was approved 03/06/14, stamp at Silencer Shop (and scanned/emailed to me) 03/11/14. And I'm talking paper form, not e-form.
5 weeks sounds insanely insane

Unless you buy from Silencer Shop and live in Texas and are having it shipped to your house
And Silencer Shop does that part (seems to be a requirement in order for NFA to allow them to ship to my house).
Not complaining, just FYI.

This week, eForms will once again be available initially for the processing of Form 6 and Form 6A. As capacity is enhanced over the next several weeks, eForms will then continue to accept Forms 1, 2, 5, 9, 5300.11 and 10. All users may continue to submit paper forms throughout this process, and ATF...

Re: Help me understand engraving requirements
Yeah, for an SBR I would avoid the barrel. Think about it, say you start out with a 7.5" 5.56 barrel. Down the road you want to get a 9mm 8" barreled upper...4" 22lr barreled upper. Now you have to get all those barrels engraved too. Just engrave the lower. Most people pick one side o...

If it were me, I'd say it's just my bad shooting  That's pretty weird though that it would group 3, then drop and group again. Did you check to make sure the teeth didn't slip and the can rotated a click or something? Scope rings are all tight? Scope mount is tight? Can mount is tight on the mu...

I called NFA yesterday on a can I paid for back in May (I hadn't called yet, just wanted to make sure everything was kosher). She told me 9 months, so maybe they're backing down the times now for what they quote at least. Unfortunately, did not get e-filed :( so I'm looking at another few months sti...

When you said Allen Engineering Suppressors, I thought one of my vendors started making cans (there's a company called Allen Engineering that makes concrete equipment) thought maybe a discount was in order.
