Re: Henry is BACK!!!! Rugged Suppressors

I'm really excited to be back in the industry and I am glad you guys like the Surge 762!

We make everything in house right now. I've used outside vendors to make parts for years so I am comfortable with spec-ing certain parts if demand outstrips our in house capabilities.

Re: SWR Specwar 762

We build and ship out of chronological order depending on when forms are approved so we did not keep a record of which cores where which. The older core has a very thick Inconel cone as the blast baffle so it will last. If you get to the point that you have fired so much ammo through your Specwar 5....

Re: Finally obtained both of my cans, Octane question

Use the piston as a carbon scrape for the initial clean. If you find it needs a more thorough clean, I like using a 10ga copper shotgun cleaning brush in a slow speed drill chuck to quickly remove remaining residue. A slower but just as effective way is a copper brush and some aluminum safe solvent....

Re: Finally obtained both of my cans, Octane question

There are petals on the expansion chamber which protrude past the inside of the piston housing. The petals are there so you can use a dowel or other non marring tool to push out the expansion chamber. As another option, you can unthread the muzzle cap a few rotations. You should be able to shake the...

Re: 7.62 Saker versus 5.56 Saker on M16

We have never worn out a Saker 556. You would have to completely erode through the Hoplon's apex before the bore size increased. If that ever happens we will just rebuild the suppressor for you.

Re: Interesting Saker cal and cap test.

The Hoplon shines on a short 5.56mm. I would classify that as 11.5" and less. If you intend to primarily use the suppressor on short 5.56 then I would recommend the Hoplon in the Saker 556. The Saker 762 has a couple of features which compensate for the lack of a Hoplon. The 7.62 baffle is 45% ...

You are awesome Emilio!

If it makes you feel any better, I did all the baffle development design and testing on the Saker 762. So SWR is not totally gone. It has just infiltrated all of the new Silencerco designs. :D

Re: My QD adapter is too big

All of our current production 1/2x28 muzzle devices have a .280" bore for 5.56mm. I have some 30 cal bore 1/2x28 muzzle devices on the production schedule, as we have had several requests for it. Some of the pencil barrels need a 7/16x28 thread since the shoulder is right at .500". That is...

Do you have access to calipers? Are you able to take a measurement of the barrel diameter about 1/2" away from the muzzle of the barrel?

Re: 7.62 Saker versus 5.56 Saker on M16

I would put our Stellite core rifle suppressors, Saker and Specwar, up against any other rifle suppressor on the market for durability. The Saker 762 will handle auto on a short M16 with no issues. The Hoplon in the Saker 556 functions primarily as an erosion control, which it excels at. Strength be...

Re: 3 lug stability?

I've never had a problem with a factory HK 3 lug. The HK production tolerances are tight. Same level of quality with higher end US clones. The problems I have seen are almost always with the (relatively) inexpensive clones. Often times you can immediately identify these clones because of the painted...

We will start production on the direct thread MAAD mounts shortly. I hope to have some shipping by late March. The threads are .750" in length. Our focus has been on ensuring the Trifecta mounts are available to ship on every Saker. That has unfortunately delayed shipping on the Y mount. The Y ...

Re: 762 Saker on SilCo website

The Hoplon needs high pressure. A Saker 762 with a Hoplon would have been too much of a compromise in 300 BLK. You would only see heavy erosion in short barreled, sub caliber rounds, like 5.56mm. A 308 suppressor already has an advantage here because the bore aperture is larger than a dedicated 5.56...

Re: 762 Saker on SilCo website

The Trifecta flash hider or brake is 2.55" in length so when mounted the Saker 7.62 adds about 5" to that length. I do not know how AAC calculates their length added. Using a plain muzzle or A2 flash hider as the reference would change the calculated length.

The Saker 7.62 is 7.5" in length. So about 1/8" shorter than the SDN6.

Re: internals of the SWR specwar

The Stellite baffles look like matte stainless steel. Due to the high temp erosion resistance of Stellite the cone face only needs to be about .070" thick to resist wear over the life of the suppressor. So you can imagine durability of the Saker with Hoplon blast baffle. Over 1/4" of Stell...

It will handle 338 Edge. I recommend you wait until the official spec release to make your purchase choice. I've put a lot of rounds through this can on a DTA 338 Lapua Mag and the can provides a different user experience from others on the market.

Re: Question for Henry

The mini baffle was an early addition to the Octane 45 design. A full size baffle would have left a large chamber between the last cone and the inside face of the muzzle cap. Not an issue in the Octane 9 but in the Octane 45 the chamber did nothing to enhance sound reduction. The last baffle is unpo...

The pictured baffles are the original stainless baffles. The current baffle is essentially a Stellite version of those.
