Re: If you want to be combat arms...just do it!
Small world when it comes to the Security Police Field. I taught Block One of the Security Police Tech School from 1976-1978 out at Medina Training Annex. I was in charge of Classroom 906. My future wife taught on the basic trainee ranges over on the Lackland side.

Re: If you want to be combat arms...just do it!
I used to tell everyone that I was the rarest thing to come out of the Vietnam War. I was the only known support troop to serve in SEA. Every one else was a Seal, Green Beret, Recon, Tunnel Rat, Sniper etc. You don't know how tired I got supporting all those guys by myself. Seriously, I think people...

Re: If you want to be combat arms...just do it!
Paul, I never underestimate the power of a military cook. An example, During Desert Storm/Desert Shield, our camp was nearly rendered non effective because of an innocent mistake by a couple of cooks. The cooks decided that it would be nice for us to have cold drinks with our meals, so they obtained...

Re: If you want to be combat arms...just do it!
I am a little confused. I retired as a Combat Arms Superintendent AFSC 75399. Should I tell everyone that I wasn't combat arms even though it was my duty title?

Re: Leaving mags loaded?
I wouldn't worry about it. When we had to leave Thailand in 1976, we had to unload literally thousands of magazines that had been loaded back in the early years of the Vietnam war, issued out almost daily to the flights, and had little done to maintain them. We sat in the armory and filled up trash ...

Signed on. Maybe they will try to buy our votes by throwing us this bone. One can dream.

Make the Marlin 45/70 a take-down version with an integral suppressor and a rail on the barrel section to mount sights or scope on. Still trying to envision how the magazine tube is going to fit on it.

Re: Silencing a .357 Desert Eagle Pistol
Thanks for the info. I talked to the guys at the Kahr booth at the SHOT SHOW ( I believe it is they who bought out the rights to the Desert Eagle Pistol) and they told me that they did not have the longer barrels available for the early Desert Eagles. So I guess it will remain as it was built. I did...

Re: Silencing a .357 Desert Eagle Pistol
Hopefully he will chime in and give me a heads-up on anything to look out for. I don't want to reinvent the wheel if I don't have to. I would love to use the six inch barrel if I can, but cannot think of a way to attach the silencer to it.

Silencing a .357 Desert Eagle Pistol
Has anyone tried this? Any modifications to the gas system needed? I have a six inch barrel on mine, but think a ten or fourteen inch barrel would be needed. The weapon is fairly impracticable as is, so I thought I should have some fun with it. Planning to use a Liberty Mystic Silencer on it.

Re: 10/22 Integral Barrels
I don't know if they are still in business, but I have one made by John's Guns that is very quiet and accurate out to two hundred yards with a Shepard Shooting Ace Scope on it.

Are you going to have a booth at the Shot Show? If so, what number?
P.S. I had to edit the drool marks off my post.

Re: Which Boots? Blackhawk?
I work in a big box home improvement store and am on my feet walking at least seven hours a day. Walking on a concrete floor all day is very hard on your feet and on boot soles. I have worn Magnum Precision UltraLite WPI CT boots for the last four years and am very happy with them. I get about a yea...

Thank goodness the young lady blowing the bubbles didn't fart in Officer Bubbles direction. She could of been charged with use of a weapon of mass destruction.

Re: Home Made Jacketed Bullets
Bendersquint, I would have to agree. If the price of projectiles for custom rounds keep going up, the only way a lot of us will be able to shoot will be to make our own . To think that I used to enjoy plinking rocks with my .458 Win Mag. Make little ones out of big ones. Last time I looked, .458 Win...

Re: Home Made Jacketed Bullets
I have a small business manufacturing custom .451 and .320 jacketed and lead bullets. I use a Corbon Mega-Mite press and H series dies. You can swage powdered copper or tungsten bullets, or even solid copper bullets with the right dies. The only thing that might slow you down is the price of the die...
