Re: Long range rimfire scopes?
I'm assuming you plan to shoot at 15-100yds only, want more than 4x, and that this is for a .22lr. Nikon 3-9x ProStaff Rimfire is a good one if you don't want to spin turrets to adjust POI at difference ranges. Re: 10-22 Reliability with subsonic ammo?
Super Colibris can be shot in rifles, but their box still says not to fire them in rifles in the small print. My 10/22 functions great with every type of standard velocity or subsonic ammo that I've tried (36-40 gr bullet at 1000fps or faster). This is in 2 different barrels, one with a Bentz match ...

Re: 5.56 CAN
Gas venting from the action under high backpressure is loud, the action itself is loud, and the sonic crack is loud. Put it in an indoor range, or under cover, and it's quite loud. Many of the semi-auto .223 hosts are shorter barreled too, which puts the muzzle closer to your ears. Now, .223 can on ...

Re: Suggest a .22LR Bolt Rifle that I can SBR for silencer
CZ 455 American. The barrels are easily removable, so threading them is cheap.
CZ makes threaded versions, but they use 1/2-20TPI I think, so you'd need an adapater if you already have a 1/2-28 threaded can.

Re: Which ammo is best?
I'd pick different ammo. Aguila Super Sniper Subsonic 60gr is best for those who don't have a suppressor,IMHO. It's an attempt to get a lower noise subsonic round at 950fps or so, with similar impact energy to standard subsonics at 1050-1080fps, which are usually a bit louder unsuppressed. Why take ...

Options for a cast bullet shooter
So right now, I shoot almost 100% home cast lead bullets in my 1911. I'm planning on acquiring a 9mm at some point, which I'd like to suppress for shooting 147gr (lead again) subsonic reloads. Is anyone shooting a lot of lead with a sealed can? Or is it that just a big PITA? What do I have for optio...

Re: 10/22 Optics/Mount
Weaver V16, since I'm guessing you want to do long range shooting with subsonic target ammo. It's adequate for short range with 4x, but goes up to 16 which is fine out to about as far as you can shoot .22lr accurately. Rings and mount for long range, I won't venture a guess, as I do all of my .22lr ...

Re: .22 or .45?
I vote for getting the .22 can first. My Spectre (first can) is ridiculously quiet. Here in VA, I can hunt with it too, so it's doubly entertaining. Stick a low profile red dot on that MkIII,run some CCI Subsonics through it, and you'll have the ultimate late night rat/possum/raccoon killing machine.

shooting the Spectre wet
What say you? Worth the hassle, or is it a waste of time in a rimfire can?
Does it actually reduce signature, or does it just add more mess to the cleanup process?

Re: Anti-seize?
I'm using regular Permatex (copper, aluminum and graphite flakes) for my Spectre threads and the outside of the baffles. It's the same stuff I use on any threaded fixtures for my vehicles. It seems to work pretty well. Then again, there isn't much galvanic difference between my barrels and my stainle...

Re: Buckmark host: thread it or go with a Trail-lite?
Got my 10/22 and Buckmark barrels back from LRP yesterday. Total wait time was just under 5 weeks from shipment-return to my door. It looks like good work. Threads are pretty clean, and the protectors match up pretty nicely with the barrels. Sight setback was good on the Buckmark. I'm still waiting ...

Re: SHOT Show rumor mill!
I think that imported 380s have a higher hurdle to comply with ATF regs How many smaller caliber handguns are currently imported?! Not many if any Yup. There's a points system used by ATF to determine if certain handguns are importable. The .380 Glock 25 and 28 fail it, since calibers smaller than ...

Threading ban era AK for suppressor
I'm thinking about the feasibility of .308 can that I can swap between my .223 AR (with adapter), an AK, and a threaded .308 rifle. What's the best option to thread a ban era 7.62x39 AK (a SAR-1 in this case) for suppressor use? 1. Thread it to 1/2-28, use adapter for 5/8-24 for a .308 suppressor, a...

CZ 455s as host?
Has anyone picked up a new CZ 455 American and had it threaded yet? Supposedly the barrels are user interchangeable, and can be changed out to .22lr, 22 WMR, 17 HMR and 17HM2 if you have the appropriate barrels. It sounds like they'll be easier/cheaper to have threaded than 452s. If CZ ever gets the...

Re: Buckmark host: thread it or go with a Trail-lite?
Virginia That price is actually just an amalgam of Tornado Technologies price and ADCO's price for Buckmark barrels. That's to set back the factory sights, thread the barrel, and add a muzzle protector. I haven't even checked prices locally, since I'm not aware of any very local companies that are goo...

Buckmark host: thread it or go with a Trail-lite?
I've got a Buckmark Camper that I'm going to use as a host for a new can (probably a Spectre). I'm trying to decide if I should just thread the factory barrel and set the sight back ($140-165+ship), or spring for the extra $50 and simply get a Tacsol Trail Lite for $190-200+ship. I'm guessing that w...
