Re: Any issue using cast bullets?
Cast is fine I shoot 99% reloads and out of those 99% are cast. if you use plated watch your crimp. Had a problem with them in a friends FA mini uzi and MK9. Tore the can apart at the end of the day to find copper shavings in it. We figured it was the crimp. He reduced crimp on his loads and hasn't ...

Re: Form 1 45 ACP can with booster
Again very nice.
I found out yesterday and today that faster is better with the 316.
What is the length of your round stock on the baffle before you start your 60 degree step down angle?

Re: Form 1 45 ACP can with booster
The booster spring setup is SWR/silencerco.
Not only does he mention this but I have everyone they make for my Octane 9 HD
Good call BTW. Why reinvent the wheel.
We'll I lied, the fixed mount I made rather then buy for my 300 BLK subs.
So please share more in depth details on your can.

Re: Form 1 45 ACP can with booster
NICE!
I'm using the same material on my 30 cal can.
I already figured out how to part the SS316 but knowing more is better what did you use to do it?
and how long are those baffles they look shorter then what I had in my mind and I plan on using 60's to.

Re: WTB....Sionics / SWD suppressor
Put a WTB on Strum I got mine NIB 500.00 after transfer there. Before buddy could pull the add.
I had about 8 offers, everything from dented tubes to the NIB one I bought.
Prices were between 200 and the 300 I paid.
This was back in 2010 I think.

Re: Any help with form 1?
What does MFI stand for or mean?
I have never done a e-form and have no desire to. ( I like the real stamp and preferred the originals over the new)
So I'm just wondering.
And on my paper F1's all of them approved 4a just has my name and addy.

Re: Should I build with a Hobby Lathe, Form Freeze Plugs, or Buy?
I wouldn't buy a lathe "just" to make a can. I bought mine to just make "things" and I do. after almost 6 yeas I've decided to make a can. only two pieces of tooling left to buy. I have the F1 and the stock. I've made all kinds of reloading stuff. RC parts, parts for a 72 x 2 inc...

Re: F1 Freeze plugs or cut on a lathe SS baffles.
A bit of a thread jack here, and I'll remove if the OP wants, but I have considered purchasing a lathe for some F1 builds. I have zero machining experience, but enjoy tinkering with stuff. How do you all feel about starting with a mini lathe? Specifically, I found this: http://www.harborfreight.com...

Re: F1 Freeze plugs or cut on a lathe SS baffles.
Hey guys that Atlas in the pic is mine no need for me to buy another lathe. Paid 1000.00 for it back in 2010 I'm a member of machinistweb.com (lots of forums really) When I bought it everyone there pretty much agreed that I either got the tooling or the lathe for free. as it came with so much stuff....

Re: F1 Freeze plugs or cut on a lathe SS baffles.
OK so 1 1/2 OD 1/38 ID I picked up. and I just places a order on the 416 SS round stock 1 3/8 (1.375) Dia. I think the hardest part will be getting everything centered once I swap out the 3 jaw for the 4 jaw along with the steady rest. So far 200 in the stamp and 56.00 bux in material shipped. 26 bu...

Re: Min diameter for 22lr monocore?
I'll second the durability of the Atlas I have had one for over 5 years. your steady rest will be fine. worse thing that it could need would be new brass rests for centering. I have two steady rests for mine it came that way when I bought it. One thing I figured out real fast with my old atlas is if...

Re: F1 Freeze plugs or cut on a lathe SS baffles.
Was going to make the baffles on this old Atlas of mine that I use for reloading the RV-85 ( on a F1 as a DD) along with other stuff the lathe & I make. I am by far no pro with the lathe but I can turn cones with it. I do so for BP lift charges for the RV-85 I know I get one shot to make this th...

Re: Greetings from PA - Walther P22 Barrel Extension Question
Have the original SWR Spectre.
sights on the P22 are G2G and so is the laser. ironically it's also the most quite handgun out of two ruger MII's I had chopped to 4 1/2 inches.
I think the adapter was 40.00 USD for the barrel, or about that price.

F1 Freeze plugs or cut on a lathe SS baffles.
OK, F1 was approved and sent back last June For a 30 cal can. I have the SS seamless tube 2 in OD 1 7/8 ID. Should I just use freeze plugs or cut baffles out of 303 Stainless 1 7/8 round stock. Pro's & Cons on both. I see most use freeze plugs because they don't have a lathe. any other benefit? ...

Tom Clancy's WITHOUT REMORSE.
Has John Clark whip out a home made can for a 45 acp with a 22 kit. and brass catcher.
Very detailed also.
Now if John Clark can pre meditate some wicked s--t on the bad guys and be a hero I think about anyone can.

All I shoot is lead in my HD 9 I've cleaned it once with the dip. I'm using it on a 300 blkout and a 9mm pistol. Cast boolits in both guns. took it apart last week and put it back together, it didn't need cleaned. I've got just over 1 K through it since last cleaning. My Spectre has been cleaned twi...

Got all setup and everything then it started asking for ny FFl and SOT. I've got 3 forms out right now. one is a F4 out of state, man is that going to be a whil...

Yup talk to SWR I had a similar problem accept it was the dealers fault ( Octane 9 HD) All I did was explain to SWR what happened gave them the can serial # and the dealer that sold it to me. They took care of it. Ya pix. Or it's a ghost can. Geeze Black sheep I thought a I was doing good with 2 pis...
