I have those same dies. I had to take a couple thousandths off the bottom of the sizing die to get the shoulder bumped back far enough. You'll need the Lee Handles. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=117892 For subsonic loads, I'm starting with THIS: http://www.midwayus...

Re: When will 300 BLK become the second most popular AR cart

Your point is certainly valid, but one of the big parts of getting "mainstream" acceptance is to have people not immediately associate it with suppressors. Having the official 300 BLK Forum location on a website titled "Silencer Talk" is going to have a tendency to pigeon hole th...

Thank you very much for all of the info! That is a huge start on the info I was looking for. I already have a Forster 300 BLK die set. (Was on a waiting list for the first run...) Was starting to build a 300 Fireball upper when the 300 BLK was released so I had a bit of a head start. Looks like I wi...

Re: 220 Sub viability range

I run a Noveske 10" with a TBAC 30P-1 suppressor. The subsonic 220 SMK is currently the primary load for this rifle. I use 300 yards as a maximum effective range. The main determining factor in this is that I run out of elevation and have to hold 4 MILS to get there. A subsonic 220 SMK is so ef...

Just built my 300 aac blk and relied heavily on this forum for info prior to that decision. I fell hard for 6.8 and built two upper for it. Still have one, a bison, which is a great upper. My wilson combat was too but was sacrificed for a 300 AAC BLK upper I put together. Here's the huge draw for m...

Re: How to expand the case mouth on 300 BLK?

Just out of pure curiosity, When you are loading up these cast "Boolits", you lubrisize the bullet, expand the case neck to start seating it, and then do you use a crimp die to finish it or just leave the neck as is? I've never had the pleasure of working in the dark art of cast "Bool...

I have tried several loads using H-110 with the 110 vmax. I started with a load that was posted on the forum that listed 21.4gr. That was way to hot for me!!!! I've had similar problems with brass I bought from one of the guys on here.. It would appear that from my brass hitting the rear of the ejection port, that my rifle is short stroking. If there was a gas issue with my rifle could that account for the pressure issues I am seeing? No... The only impact the rifle can have on the brass in this context is to tear it up by extract...

Re: Status of Noveske Switchblock for 300BLK?

I think ammo companies should design their ammo to work in existing guns. Running a 10" Noveske barrel suppressed, what powder would you recomend to slow down the cyclic rate of supersonics? The Noveske barrels are configured to run subsonics with a suppressor and supersonics without a suppres...

Re: Crimping?

The premise for "touching the lands" is more about how much "jump" a particular bullet "likes" in a particular rifle. Berger bullets are well known to work well when seated close to the lands. Does it also change the pressure? Absolutely! Both from a case volume perspec...

Burns way too slow to be used in 300 BLK.

The good news is that 1 pound of powder typically yields 350 - 700 cartridges.

Another big plus for the Browning Buckmark is that the breach has two use openings for gas and debris to escape out of when out of battery. This also allows you to "Field Clean" the thing in ten seconds flat. Just the crud factor alone would be cause for me to switch to a Buckmark. I would...
