Re: Tube wall thickness and TI Grade?
OK. We know you got the tube. But where is the suppressor you built from it? Have you ever even built a suppressor? That thread is 7 months old so I guess you forgot or just failed to mention it to benefit your post. Either way it proves the point I made. I have built a couple cans before with appr...

bandit, sri has been making cans for years. because you have not seen them or know of them doesnt mean he has not been doing it. Not true, at least not under the SRI name. Re: Tube wall thickness and TI Grade?
Can't find G5 titanium in tubes so you have to bore it from barstock. Thats what AAC does unless they have a custom extruder but thats some big bucks, but would help justify the price on their Titan-Ti . Grade9 is generally considered suitable for pistols only You are going to want thicker than .05...

Re: Tube wall thickness and TI Grade?
What specs are you looking for? -B How about what grade titanium they use ? Please tell us if you know. No such animal as 6AL-4V tubing, only way you get that is to bore out bar stock. -B Not true. Grade 5 can be had in lots of sizes including 1-1/2" OD with .065 wall. I have found .035-.045 w...

I just learned that 60 degree K's are prefered for 9mm. Nice to see what others are doing. Who prefers them? -B Obviously the OP huh ? Works for him. I only seen 60 degree being used so far but only from guys doing F1's. Never implied it's the go to angle for everyone doing 9mm. Now if you want to ...

Re: My 9mm Form 1 with booster
I did consider POI.......I machined the one notch in the piston at 12 o'clock when on my G19. I test fired a few rounds and was happy with that grouping, marking the top of the tube. I then installed a stainless screw inside the rear mount matching the position on the piston at 12 o'clock. Using a ...

Here's a guy who just came out with a new M14 M1A barrel that will take a silencer threaded directly on the muzzle of the barrel. He said to time the gas system and use a Schuster adjustable gas plug and it works real good. I have a M1A bush rifle I am going to have his barrel installed on so it wil...

Is the multimount lighter than the trident 9 ? I have a 92f and would like to use the same can on a 9mm AR upper saving $$ if I don't need the booster.

Re: Tube wall thickness and TI Grade?
Go with seamless grade 9 titanium (Ti-3Al-2.5V) for tubing. Titanium Sports Titanium Tubing Price List The CWSR is stronger than annealed and they show to have .087 wall in 1.5" OD. The grade 9 CWSR in .087 wall is rated for 120,000psi and yield is 105,000. Should be good for 308 or 223 can. T...

Nice first time build. Have you considered more notches on the piston to adjust for POI if needed ?

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2011-10/1369816/daw%20can%20016.jpg The cross-drilled sleeves looks to have coarse threads on the inside leading me to think it is another off-the-shelf hardware store item modified for suppressor use like the reflector-esque baffle. http://img204.imageshack.us/img204...

Cam bearings on the steady and run at slow speed should get big jobs done nicely.

I finished making my thread caps and dropped everything off to my C2 guy with my Ruger MKII to get threaded and everything refinished. Maybe get them back end of next week or so. I made the thread caps look like the original barrel was never altered just like he suggested. Will show more pics of fin...
