that can is like .15 thick CM pretty much bulletproof, any lead hitting the internals just fragments/evaporates, would not do it with a AL can however

It amazes me how much of a clusterfuck this thread has become. I stated several times that the can is chromoly NOT SS... I called liberty to try to jailbreak it and they don't do CM YHM cans as they are very hard to open. I decided to blow the round up in the oven after experimenting with another 38...

so i stuck another 380 round inside a soup can and after about 7 min in the oven it cooked off. Bullet came out, primer blew out and the brass lost half of its weight, problem is base of the brass opened up like a flower... so if did this inside the can there is no way that brass peace would fit ins...

Also from a bit of research nitric acid will dissolve the whole thing within 10 minutes BUT i cant seem to find any info on what it will do to chromoly. Any chemists (real ones please) on the board?

waterhose method left me soaking wet, no go.. melting point of copper/brass is right around 2000f and chromoly is 2600 its too risky to heat the can to that i think... i dont think superglue will work as the round is black and soaked with carbon/lead from rattling around i doubt anything will stick ...

The diagram shows 3 baffles there are actually 4 baffles plus the blast baffle.

Nothing in the round is magnetic i dont see how discussing magnets further helps...

Round is made of copper/brass which are not magnetic. This is a $400 can i dont think it would be wise to invest into hundreds of dollars of cameras/electro magnets/robots which in the end wont do anything. This would be a done deal IF the baffles were all horizontal like book shelves, but they are NOT. they are all at weird angles so to even see the round slide in there the can is always at some weird unstabilized angle. its a f*kin cluster*uck and a half.

well the can can survive a dinky 38acp round going off i am sure problem is that the brass will expand after that and for sure wont fit throught the baffles.

if i can get the round to line up with the baffles then the round will just fall throught no need to pull it or push it. Its line line up part thats the hardest, the baffles are V shaped or something its a LOT harder in practice than in theory

The round is a FMJ .380 now i am curious if "dipped" for a while what it would do.

there is NO way to grab it with anything as its inside and even if shaken once you grab it it still has to line up with the baffle hole which is the hard part
