Re: 9mm can is done
Wow, were you shooting .223/5.56 in that? Sounds real quiet. What did you end up for a blast chamber length? What is your overall length and length of the individual K-baffles? What is your bore diameter? I am looking at .410" or .420" for mine. Yes it was full power 5.56 out of a 11.5&qu...

Re: Most Quiet Silencer for Springfield M1A
Why would K's work better on a M1a? Is there something in the design that helps? What would a .308 "K" can consist of, # of K's, blast chamber length, wall thickness, etc?Capt. Link. wrote:K baffles

Could I use this on a 20" .308
I have this 9mm can I made. http://www.silencertalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=96616 I have used it on a 11.5" AR without any problems. Do you think it would hold up to a .308 remington with a 20" barrel? It seems to me that a 11.5" 5.56 has about the same pressure as a 20&quo...

Re: 9mm can is done
What machines did you use? Set up? You demonstrate high quality machining talent. Again, excellent. I used a mini-lathe w/ digital readout for all the baffles and end caps. I used a regular lathe (not mine) for the threading of the tube (mini lathe is too short) and a regular end mill (not mine) fo...

Re: 9mm can is done
1.25" is a bit much for the blast chamber. Where did you come up with that number? even if I am shooting 5.56 out of it? It is what size it ended up after shoving 8 K's in it. Should I add another K and shorten it? Thanks You said it was a 9mm can, didn't know it was used on a 556. You are on ...

Re: 9mm can is done
Nice finish, no bad sound! What materials were you using? I too am interested in the inside of the mount. Did you use a Dater hole in the blast chamber? I would make the thickness around the bore a little thicker next time, will help you out. Its 304SS for the whole can. No dater hole in the blast ...

And his 77/44 suppressor is super quiet. I do think the outer tube is offset so you can mount the sight at a lower level.

Re: Best Baffle for 9mm
What kind of size are you thinking for the can? I have a F1 in and am making one for my M11, it will be 10" long and I will use 1.5" tubing. I am going to go with as many K's as I can shove in the thing.

Small K baffle
As I am waiting for my F1 to come back
I was thinking, If I were to make a smaller K-baffle to put in the hollowed out end cap, would it help, or would it just be a waste of time?

Have you tried soaking it in ATF first. The tranny fluid will not eat the aluminum and is high in detergents, might just be enough to get it apart easily.

Re: What kind of unique silencer would you like to see?
What about making the suppressor slide in and out on the barrel so that you can tune the resonance for better accuracy, then have some way to fix it in the best accuracy position?
If the collar were to slide in and out of the combustion chamber it could also maybe help with first round pop.

What would happen if you put them back to back then also. Small side to small side, then large side to large side? Kind of like this:

I was looking at getting one, but when the craigslist guy finally got back to me, it sounded like he had so many people looking at it that he was going to take the highest offered price. So I decided not to bother for his minimum price.

Re: 9mm SubGun suppressor
k's are not optimal nor the norm for 223 or 308 use. not saying it wont work. why the 1/4" wall for the end-caps? .065 is plenty for the front. .5" for the rear but not solid, have it ribbed or with a bunch of blind holes. Ya, I know the K's aren't optimal for rifle calibers, it will be p...

I have been lurking for a while now. I have some questions about making a can for my m11/9. I know all about form1's and will be sending mine off very soon. I am going to be using 304SS throughout. Yes, I know it will be heavy! The tube will be 1.5" with .095 wall I am planning on a 10.5" ...
