Don't know about the general problem. I bought an 8.5" 1:7 300 BLK barrel they made before I knew there was a problem. Had it checked before it was fired as I learned of the problem before it was installed. Has been perfect ... and I was much relieved! Exact same here, my 8.5 is also good to go.
