Re: Help me w/ design ideas for a .458 Socom Subsonic can
Aaron at Delta Co. built my .50 hush puppy - Similar platform to what you are doing. We did 3/4-20 Threads. The can is a stepped cones (stainless) with spacers (aluminum) about 12" long using 2" o.d. Seamless Stainless .065 wall. It is similar to the other cans on here and is overbuilt for...

Re: Suppressor Construction Order of Operations
I have a stick of 1.88 - .065 ss that I am going to weigh against the 6061 and see how much weight i can save.
The .50 hushpuppy subsonic loads don't take much more powder than my .308 sub loads.

Re: Suppressor Construction Order of Operations
Thanks fellas. In my typical fashion, I went a little crazy on the lathe yesterday and took everything to its final dimensions. Including endcaps. I started to thread the end cap for 3/4-20. Good news is my all thread idea works. The stepped cones tightly fit over the all-thread. The only problem is...

Re: Suppressor Construction Order of Operations
now im thinking........ What about boring and threading the endcap to 3/4-20. Then make and insert with 3/4-20 threads and 9/16-13 internal threads to align it all????

Re: Suppressor Construction Order of Operations
thanks Ranb, I was also going to weld the caps in the same way. I was thinking that the 9/16" all thread running through the whole thing would act as an alignment tool for the stepped cones and cinch the thing together. My bore for the step cones is 14mm, the all thread is 9/16" on the lab...

Suppressor Construction Order of Operations
Hello All, After receiving a stamped form 1 and completion of material machining. I am trying to figure out the best way to assemble without compromising alignment. Here is what we got: .510 Cal. - Mostly shooting subsonics 12" 304 s.s. .065 wall tube (6) stepped baffles with spacers and 3"...

Re: 12 gauge Shotgun suppressor ideas.
This design is very effective. It works. Especially when using the Federal brand Metro loads. They are subsonic right out of the box. The wadding or packing used can make a big difference as well. The scotch bright stainless scouring stuff is pretty durable. Even with all of the porting the wad stay...

What tool are you using to create the steps on the cones? It looks like a parting tool?

Re: 9mm Integral AR Upper
Originally i bought the trident and different mounts so i could swap between my AR, 226, and P30. Now, I have gotten lazy and I dont like to share. I want a chicken in every pot. (not what Hoover was envisioning) I like the idea AAC used on the 10/22 integral with the suppressor machined into the ba...

Re: 9mm Integral AR Upper
Thanks for the quick replies. Now you got me thinking even more..... For starters im thinking I use my Rock River Barrel and thread a monocore onto the 1/2-36 threads. Now what Im thinking is that the muzzle threads become the attaching point for the whole system. Ill make the monocore part of the o...

9mm Integral AR Upper
Hello -- Im looking into doing an integral 9mm AR upper. I am trying to find some pics or ideas for the guts. It turns out that they are kind of hard to come by. I was going to use an idea similar to the integral 10/22's. Currently I have a RRA 9mm with the 16" barrel and a Trident. I was going...

Re: Does this seem possible? (integral 10/22 silencer)
Holey crap. I dont even know if the bullet will make it out of the barrel? That is one awesome design, but way way way more than what you need. Take a look at the AAC design, it is very simple. It is basically a bull barrel turned down to create (2) chambers the first chamber has (2) ports in it and...

Re: K Baffles in Shotgun Suppressor
Thanks Capt. !!!!
I like the idea of porting the crap out of the barrel, but I think there is still something to be said about baffles in combination with porting.

K Baffles in Shotgun Suppressor
Ill keep this short. Who thinks that using K-baffles in a shotgun suppressor is a bad idea? The barrel will be ported with two expansions chambers. The K's or cones will start at the end of the muzzle for about 12". Using a 2 3/4" stainless tube for the can mounted in two points. Any thoug...

Re: 12 gauge Shotgun suppressor ideas.
Thanks for the input. My plan was to do a 2-point mount. 2 3/4" Stainless tube mounted near the barrel lug on a fixed mount with a step cut into it for centering. The other point will be at the muzzle where another fixed piece the (I.D. of the stainless). The suppressor would slide over the fro...

Re: 12 gauge Shotgun suppressor ideas.
I was thinking about this too, its nice how it has come up. I want to design a 12 ga. too. Should be all ported and sectioned off into large chambers? Would K's or cones work toward the muzzle? If K's could work, I think it might be helpful. I just think the cup will start to expand once into the su...

Re: .50 Hush Puppy Suppressor Ideas
This guy Bob is the man - I hope he does not mind me posting the link on here. I know his name has popped up in some other threads. He has a really cool step by step on integral suppression on a 10/22. Not a bad Form 1 idea for a person with limited machine access or abilities. http://bobbailey1959....

Re: .50 Hush Puppy Suppressor Ideas
I was talking to Aaron (the builder) he said his suppressor was a monocore and it was basically a series of holes in a straight line. I have seen and heard a monocore with the straight holes in action on rimfire. It was 1" od aluminum about 8" long and it was quieter than the element I was...

Re: .50 Hush Puppy Suppressor Ideas
Sorry,I live on the East coast.
As far as pressure goes, i have read that it is 15-20k psi higher than the .50 beowulf.
So far I have been thinking 60 degree K's with a short blast chamber.

.50 Hush Puppy Suppressor Ideas
Hello All, Newbie to the forum, long time reader first time posting a new topic. Aaron at Delta Company arms is finishing up a .50 hush puppy build for me. For those unfamiliar - The platform i am using is a Rem 700 S.A. - The case is a cut down 7mm W.S.M. and a .510 bullet. I will be loading with T...

Re: My new K-Holder ...
Hello all, Paul - Is their a particular reason for the "neck" on the K-baffles. I see some just run the cone straight into the flat part of the baffle whereas yours takes the shape of a martini glass (im not poking fun). Is their a performance benefit? thanks for any input, always looking ...
