Re: Can you mag-pod an AK?

It might depend on the mag quality but I'm fairly sure most AK mags are robust enough to handle some harsh treatment. That was kind of the point of the AK. As rqlasi said though, it's a bit uncomfortable as it raised the rifle kind of high. Might be easier with a 20rd mag.

Sub $200 AR suppressor, the Po'Boy. Anyone here tried one?

I saw this link from Soldier Systems about this new sub $200 AR suppressor: http://soldiersystems.net/2017/05/12/black-aces-tactical-announces-po-boy-ar15-suppressor-for-just-199/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook a sub $200 AR suppressor which is user serviceable and uses a standard AR sto...

What do these things look like? Are they just digitized copies of the actual stamped documents which are kept at ATF somewhere?

I FOUND IT!!! After reading your response I went back and re-read the OP just to find it. I'd completely missed it the first time around. No, I'm not joking.

Who here rolls their own fingerprints?

A response in another thread got me thinking. In that response, someone claimed they rolled their own fingerprints. I know I can purchase the cards from Amazon, but I'm a bit concerned about how much it would cost to get finger prints rolled. The last time I had to do that at a PD I did it in my col...

Re: Constructing a Cover Yourself Firesleeve/Heatshield?

Well done. This looks like a great way to save some bucks and still get a professional looking cover. Did you ever consider making a core yourself? Back when I first got into suppressors, I purchased a small fiberglass welding blanket which I cut down and hemmed to make a small towel that I could us...

Re: Who does good raised sight work?

Cutting a dovetail is basic for any gunsmith who deserves to be called one. Another option that will cost about the same as machine work and new sights is the crimson trace laser grips. I went that route on my 1911, sig P220 and CZ-75 and like the results. A pistol can to me is mostly a range toy, ...

Who does good raised sight work?

Now that I've pretty much decided which guns I'll normally be using with which suppressors, I find myself needing to raise the sights on two pistols. One is a Taurus PT99, the other is a full size double stack 1911 type 45. Does anyone know of any company that provides this service? I've seen a coup...

Re: So who's filing for new Form 1 or Form 4 before Obama kills off NFA on trusts?

Regarding the fingerprints, I once had to have my concealed carry permit renewed and went to the class they have at gun shows and saw that they do the fingerprinting right there. Gun shows are fairly common in many areas, and they usually have these classes for states where CC is allowed. I know I a...

Re: Quick attachments for silencers - Is it worth it?

It seems to me that QD attachments are more for convenience at the range than for personal defensive situations. In any case, I don't think it would be a good idea to attach a suppressor to a gun you're immediately going to use for self defense even if you had the time. For one, following an inciden...

Re: 9mm SBR host help needed

I know this isn't on your list, but Classic Firearms is selling UZI copies for about $600. Having fired a suppressed UZI I can tell you it's a hoot, and with a Gemtech MultiMount on a threaded short barrel all I could hear was the action functioning. I suggest it because the UZI barrel is super easy...

Re: OVERRUN 9MM MICRO SUPPRESSOR $189 BLOWOUT!

So, should I pull the trigger, or not? I just wrote them & they still have them. I was consisting the Posiden 9mm or 45, so this a natural buy as an alternative. Is the core same/similar to the Posiden? From what I understand, the core is different from that of the Poseidon, but the two are sim...

Re: OVERRUN QMF CQ WET .45 SUPPRESSOR BLOWOUT $299

Just a follow up. This can was mentioned as being suitable for multi-caliber use, so I ordered an adapter to use this one on a 1/2x28 threaded barrel so I could use it on a 9mm gun. I recently tried it out and it worked better than expected. I used it on a 9mm UZI SBR with threaded barrel. I first u...

Re: OVERRUN 9MM MICRO SUPPRESSOR $189 BLOWOUT!

Awesome, but where did you get an extended threaded barrel for the CZ83? Also, why'd you get the one in in .460"-36? It doesn't seem very widespread. Is this thread pitch used in another specific gun?

Re: Just how hot do suppressors get?

Casual shooting, or trying to destroy a suppressor? I'd be doing some casual shooting. I've actually been carrying a thick pair of leather welding gloves in my suppressor pack. I also have a mini welding cloth that I cut from a larger welding blanket and sewed the ends so it wouldn't fray. I made t...

Just how hot do suppressors get?

I was in the BBQ section at Bass Pro over the weekend and saw they had a set of knit gloves that were rated to handle up to 400 degrees for only $20. It got me to thinking. Recently in the thread about the magazines (publications) I mentioned that the first issue of G&A Silencers mentioned two s...

Need suggestions for an AR suppressor

I'm going to be in the market for an AR suppressor soon, but I wanted to be able to try it on several rifles, so I have a few questions for the experts. I assume most suppressors will have the ability (or option) screw onto 1/2x28 threads, but which models will attach to a standard AR flash suppress...

Re: No Silencer Magazines?

Just kidding. I didn't have the magazine with me when I originally posted and I couldn't remember the names. They list two url's oveglove.com and grillheataid.com They say the oveglove can handle temperatures up to 540 degrees, while the Grill Heat Aid, which is thicker can handle up to 932 degrees....
