Octane HD, how often do you clean?

Hello all How many rounds are some of you putting through an Octane before you clean the baffles? Just take it apart every few hundred rounds and look at it to see if it needs cleaned yet? Wait until carbon is bad enough to "need" it? Dont want to seize it up, but dont want to over clean e...

what 9mm's can use spacer with Octane 9HD2?

Hello all
I have read that the Beretta 92 can run without a recoil booster/neilson device. Any other 9mm pistols? I would like to run with a spacer to keep blowback down.
Will any version 92 work?

Does Nielson device help cycle light loads?

Hello all

Is it normal for a pistol to cycle loads with a suppressor, that wont cycle when the suppressor isnt being used?

Fixed suppressor on Glock? or piston on 22

Hello all I have an Octane 9HD with a G23 and Wolf 9/40 barrel. I have read that using a fixed mount on a semiauto wont hurt the gun or suppressor, and have also read that using a piston on a fixed barrel can hurt things. Can I actually use a fixed mount on an Octane 9HD and the Glock without hurtin...

357 lever and Octane? Quieter than semiauto pistol?

Hello all I am seriously looking at a lever 357 carbine for another host for the Octane 9HD. It might not have quite the range of a 300blk, but it would be lots cheaper to play with, and the large meplat of 357 heavies would do some damage to critters. I want quiet . I could just download 9's for th...

questions about "rotating" the tube on a Octane 9 HD

Hello all. Is it normal to be able to pull on the 9mm Octane and rotate the tube, when it pulls away from the "cog" shape in the expansion chamber? Is it normal for the can to rotate by itself? Sometimes it rotates slightly, and there is a slight change in exposed adapter length if the cog...

Re: clean burning powder? 9mm subsonic 135-ish grain bullets

I bought some 135 RNFP from extreme because they had some. Also read that the 147s can be a bit harder to stablize so I bought a bit lower weight.
Sounds like most people feel VV N310 or 320 is the cleanest, thanks all.

Octane 2HD, thread onto bbl how tight?

Hello all

How tight should I be threading an Octane onto 1/2x28 bbl? I dont want to hurt it, but "hand snug" and it starts to loosen every 20 or so rounds. LW 9mm conversion on G23 if it matters.

Thanks all

clean burning powder? 9mm subsonic 135-ish grain bullets

Hello all

I am looking for opinions on what you feel is the cleanest burning powder you guys have used for subsonic 9mm with 135gr bullets. I have bullseye, hp38, AA2imp, red dot, unique, hs5, trap100.

Thanks

Are you having to use force the whole way, or just get it to start moving? If you are actually "dropping" the round in, it can stick slightly.

UPDATE: Found 1 lone box of 124gr, worked up a load that cycles and I am like :). Subsonic is the key for sure. Thanks all!
HUGE difference between the 124 subsonic and white box 115gr. Yes, I am :) with the Octane!

9mm Octane 2 HD, is 147 quieter than 115?

Hello all Picked up the Octane 2 HD this week after almost 8 months. Put on a G23 with Lone Wolf 9mm conversion bbl. Only had white box 115 to test, its quite a bit louder than I hoped. Will subsonic 147 grain be noticeably "less noisy"? I handload, anyone know of a particular powder that ...

paclite upper vs Ruger lite vs rail model etc?

Hello all I am considering a 22/45 Lite for the sparrow, or a paclite upper for one of my MKII steel frames. Maybe even one of the rail models, though I really am leaning toward the lightwieght 22/45. But, I was raised on bullseye and am used to the heavy bull barrel 5 1/2 model, though the Lite is ...

you could always have an "impulse sale". I am looking for a Lite. I think. I have a couple 5 1/2 bull barrel MKII's and consider cutting one down, but cant bring myself to do it.
I posted a question on Lite vs Paclite upper just for this reason.

Re: Local smith won't thread my ranch hand.

You might consider going 5/8 threads, with the correct adapter. I have a 5/8 x 24 adapter for my mystic, would it be better to have that thread than 1/2 x 28? Bender, any advise?

Hard to think that a 9mm, at 955 bore, leaves thick enough walls with 1/2x28 thread, but a mere 002 more...

Re: 9mm suppressor

I currently have papers in for an Octane HD2 . Octane has stainless baffles, all the baffles click together so the outer tube doesnt get dirty, it can be taken apart easily after shooting, but it is not rated for supersonic 300 blackout. For all the calibers you listed I would look at the Liberty My...
