Re: Tube thickness questions

We have Kiwi member (577 Enfield) that kept shaving the suppressor tube until he had a pressure breech.I'm positive one of our google fu pros can find the thread for everyone's edification instead of me trying to remember when it burst.I would caution more on thread engagement and uber thin areas w...

Re: My first Can... 2nd video attempt

Great job, well done, I have long thought suppressors ridiculously over priced in the US. Hopefully this sort of build will help drag prices to a sensible level.

Good job mate.

Suppressed 410 - Repost

Hi Gents, I took down the details on my post about my suppressed 410 as I was looking into some opportunities, now that is all done it seems some wanted to see it again so I thought easiest to just create another post rather than filling in the blanks on the old one. The challenge was to produced su...

Re: ....

I figured Enfield did it to protect intellectual property? That might be right as he is selling these, there. I fully understand that. Gunny You got it spot on, I was approached for a BIG order so checked out the patent thing, decided not to go that way and keep it as paying hobby/small sideline at...

Re: Making a Welrod copy

Ok Gents, time for another update, these latest parts have taken a bit of thinking about but, we got there. First I made a boring bar to cut the groove in the receiver for the bolt lugs, now the next bit to work out how to cut the slots to fit the lugs, decided initial mill then a broach to nip out ...

Re: Making a Welrod copy

Don't forget that detent drill spot :D What is the drill bit for? Indicating zero? I had intended doing the detent when the receiver is done, making a kind of small centre punch that fits in the receiver and working back from there. As for the drill bit that small hole goes right through, just like...

Re: Making a Welrod copy

Got a bit more done over the last few days, had to make a split mandrel to hold the bolt knob then slowly mill on the lugs and limit slot. Starts getting to the point you really don't want to stuff a part up when you have put a few hours into it ha ha. http://i64.tinypic.com/2d1lch1.jpg http://i65.t...

Re: Making a Welrod copy

Getting a bit more done on the Welrod copy, remember this will be a cut away display one only, just to work out the manufacturing processes and tools etc. so a dummy barrel in this one. Have to say I am pleased with how it is looking. http://i63.tinypic.com/fbesti.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/166lykj....

Making a Welrod copy

Hi Guys, Thought you might be interested, following on from my recent purchase, I always planned to make a copy of the Welrod and so much easier with one to hand. Anyway I though I would create this post and as I get bits done I will keep this updated. The plan is for the first one to make a cut-awa...

Welrod X-Rays

Hi Guys, Still playing with my new toy, can't get the front end cap off so got some X-Rays done to see condition of can/tube, all looks quite good. The X-Rays came out nice an clear and can even see the tiny trigger spring, had to do a lsh up to get it on here though. Set the PC screen to white, tap...

Re: Can't belive I just bought a Welrod !

Hi Historian, all interesting stuff ....thanks. Update to all, I would like to put a shot through it but the end cap does not want to budge, so this thing is too valuable to just hope its is all ok inside so I have it booked in at a place in town and we are going to x-ray it to check on corrosion in...

Re: Can't belive I just bought a Welrod !

If you haven't already, have a look at the step by step build thread following Stan1 as he built a couple of these, one in basic steel, the 'real' one out of proper alloys. I think he intends to donate the prototype to a museum. He shares video towards the end of the thread and makes fairly obvious...

Re: Can't belive I just bought a Welrod !

I know that you may answer this request as "no" and I won't judge you if you do. Is there any way that you could fire a shot with it on video so for those of us who will never be able to have hands on experience with them will have some point of reference? I too have had extreme interest in both th...

Hi Guys, Just had to tell you lot about this, I have been interested in the WWII Welrod suppressed pistol for some time now but they are so very rare I had started the plans to make a copy. With that in mind went to a gun show today to meet a guy with an original so that I could take a few measureme...

Re: How tight?

As mine go out to customers all over and you never really know what they will do with them, I ensure that the stack is 0.02" to 0.030" longer so the end cap will always do them up tight, same as most manufacturers out here. particularly in the US where I understand you can't easily remake bits, If t...

That is the whole point, I developed it to shoot standard ammo off the shelf, it drops the speed down to subsonic levels with porting and suppresses.

The video shows standard 2 1 /2" eley ammo even the 3" sound the same.

Re: Integrally suppressed Vepr

I tried all sorts of mesh, packing, scrubbing pads, wool, the lot it all crushed down (that was at the high pressure end, starting about 2" past the end of the chamber). I ended up going to 1/8" dia holes, the eyelets were around 3/16" so no issues there, if you find something else that work let me...
