Re: YHM Phantom .30 Titaniam QD

LOL ^

I have their 30 cal SS can, thing is built like an up-armored tank, could probably beat another tank to death with it if I ever ran out of ammo.
Extremely well made.

Re: Suppressing 40 cal

Just by ear, my Ti-Rant 45M in the long config 45 < 9 < 40 shooting 230, 147 and 180 gr respectively from a Glock 23 with conversion barrel for the 9, stock for the 40 and on a Kimber Ultra Carry II with a aftermarket barrel. All are pleasant to shoot to my ear using sub-sonic loads. I am actually s...

Like a reverse reflex design where the extra volume is over the baffles instead of the barrel.
Interesting idea.

Ti-rant 45M for me. Great can and can shoot it in the K configuration. Lot of fun.

Any non-combustible liquid will work, but some work better than others.

I prefer the wire pulling gel, but water works too, and is everywhere.

Re: Booster-less micro cans vs slide weight

You will need to calculate the fulcrum point and the weight distribution (probably not using the right terms to describe this). The weight of the slide moving vertically under recoil forces is not equal to the energy needed to unlock and raise the barrel against the recoil spring and weight of movin...

Re: Thinking of getting Centerfire Suppressor - Help Please

According to the 45M manual, the Tirant baffle stack is still the same... 1 SS blast baffle and 8 Al ones. And the removable front tube is Al, not Ti. The grey and black colors don't indicate steel or aluminum. There's no mistaking the steel blast baffle from the others; it's much heavier. Was hopi...

Re: Thinking of getting Centerfire Suppressor - Help Please

It has changed since the original Ti-rant. The M is for modular, so you can shoot it in a K, or short configuration also. I suspect that since the aluminum cans are out, away from the muzzle, they won't get that dirty to begin with. Mine is in jail still, so I can't speak with certainty on it just y...

The Ti-rant 45M is a titanium tube, baffles B-5 are stainless, 6-9 are aluminum.

Don't they have Al baffles besides the blast baffle?

Stainless in the main tube, aluminum in the extension.

Tons of pictures here http://www.hkpro.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=89:mp5.. that you can use to determine dimensions and build of original MP5SD's. Some of the original baffles were really primitive (but effective), so if you were to use modern baffle designs you will mo...

I don't think you're going to have any problems at all.

Surprised about the Freedom Munitions 147 gr. not getting eaten by your Glock with the Osprey.
All my pistols (Glock's included) eat that s--t up like it was candy.

Thanks for the full URL, my work blocks most of them for security reasons. So on break, nice to be able to click on it and see. Re: Cleaning K-Baffles

Brass shells and baffles are nothing alike. After you tumble brass you resize, shoot it, and fire form it. Any dimensional changes from tumbling will be taken care of by resizing dies and fire forming. Baffles don't get that luxury. Is the deformation from tumbling aluminum in stainless steel going...

Next batch of new brass I pick up, will mark and measure with some micrometers and see what kind of wear after tumbling/reloading they experience. Curious now.

Re: A-TEC CMM4(6) Rimfire Suppressor Lead Deposition

Can the atmospheric conditions before, and while shooting contribute to the uneven buildup throughout the total cycle?
Maybe on higher or lower humidity days more or less lead and carbon fouling is adhering to the suppressor? Might
explain the odd accumulation.

Very interesting study regardless.

I suspect it would work fine, and over a period of time slowly, ever so slowly, start to damage the baffles.
Aluminum baffles getting bombarded by stainless steel pins....
Pins made of a softer aluminum may be ideal.

Hard to tell in videos what a can sound level is, can sometimes pick up the tone, but not the loudness.
Video was great, can looks amazing. No worries on actual numbers for me, more curious what that round/can combo is capable of more than anything else.

Thanks
