Transport SBR out of state

Had a thought...go figure... If I temporarily replace my stock with a pistol brace, could I transport it to another state without jumping through the ATF paperwork hoop? Or would it be considered illegally making a rifle a pistol?

Re: Best choice for defensive shotgun: Pump or Semi-Auto?

Mossberg 930......I can fire the weapon one handed if necessary (Wounded, kids in tow, etc.). Softer recoil for the wife and kids. No issues with them short stroking either. Just as likely to short stroke a pump as have an issue with a semi....at least that has been my experience. YMMV...

Re: Interchangeable caliber silencer

OK. How about the scopes that have a cover that closes when you twist it. And opens when you twist. That way you can dial the correct caliber you are shooting. These would be located between the k baffles only to decrease gas blow by. At anytime you would quickly be able to dial the largest caliber...

If you own an SBR, go with a Noveske KX3 or a Levang Linear....no more headaches for you or those around you.

Re: Finally got an update for my stamp.....SIGH

Polictical reasons? Chris My guess. Actually, there are near 30,000 forms. 9 or so examiners can only process so many forms a day even with their newly hired augmentees. When I talked with my examiner, he said the sheer number of forms submitted in the past couple years in addition to the hireing f...

Re: Thread on can for .223....

You might look into a Thompson Machine "Thirty" or "Sixteen". They rate pretty well, they are both user servicable monocores, built like tanks and can be found for just over $500. Seems to meet all your requirements. CS is great as well. Only downside is they weigh 27oz. I bought a "Thirty" to use o...

Re: HTG Eureka or Aris?

I purchased a Thompson Machine "30" monocore user servicable can for multi-caliber use. From what I have seen/read, it rates pretty well as far as dbs are concerned. Can't judge for myself until my stamp clears sometime in August. Length: 8.4" Diameter: 1.5" Weight: 27oz Cost: Just over 5 bills It's...

Re: HTG Eureka or Aris?

If cost and compatibility is a concern, have you considered going with a .30 cal can? Gives you a lot more flexibility if you are not a decibel hound. Not much louder than a dedicated .223 can when installed on a .223. A good take apart can would allow you to shoot everything from .308 on down to .2...

Re: Why are 22. LR cans SO small?

Picked up my CHD a few weeks ago and am extremely happy with it. No difference between it and an Outback in my opinion. For what it is worth, I dig the look of an old 70s style can on the end of my FVSR. (Will post pics when I can grab the camera) Building a 6" .22 upper for my SBR. Figure the can w...

Re: Too many choices...

Assuming you have no other 22 rifles, I would agree with B, get the 10/22. As much as I talk about how ridiculously awesome the FVSR is :D I think if you have just one, the 10/22 is it. Mine still shoots very well, even in stock carbine config. Only things I've done to it are add a very cheap 4x sc...

Too many choices...

Picking up my TM CHD in the next few days. Torn between the Savage mkii FVSR or the Ruger 10/22-FS.. Should I go for tack driving bolt action or semi-auto goodness? Both have their good points but I am going nuts trying to decide and "buy both" is not a valid choice..... 50 years old and I am as spu...

Great video! Just the kind of info we need.

On a side note, it may have been the camera angle but it appeared as if the two of you came close to sweeping each other on a few occasions. (Sorry, I tend to be a bit anal about things like that given my background)

Did a search but am not finding much mention of it. How long has Hodgdon had the 300 AAC Blackout loads up on their site?
Any issues with the loads you are seeing there?

Seems my Form 4s went pending yesterday. Had a chance to talk with the gent handling my paperwork. He said he has been there for 6 years and the forms to be processed has tripled since he started. Apparently he has 6-7 boxes of forms waiting to be processed. I did not ask him to define how big a box...

It's all over with dude, the FED Gunthug storm troopers are readying an APC to breach your front door and stomp your pets as we speak! Then they're going straight to your dealer to pry open his vault, and toss your weapon and suppressor to a pack of gibbering anti-gun loons armed with Dremel tools ...

Hornady Bullet Bonanza...

Ordered a fair amount of Hornady items (went from a Lee single stage to the Hornady AP along with a few new Hornady dies and trimmer) and qualify for a total of 1000 bullets. Was thinking about the Hornady 150gr SP #3031. Decent round for a super/sub load? Thoughts?

Re: Forming Brass

Just ordered the trim die and extension fron CH4D. Talked with the young lady about these dies. She said she has taken quite a few orders for these dies. Might want to order these before demand drives the price up even more. The die cost me just over $50 and the extension just over $16.

Hornady/Lee/Trimmer

OK, ordered the CH4D Whisper trim die for a Dillon Trimmer. Has anyone used this setup on a Hornady AP or a Lee single stage press? Any issues or useful setup information? I understand from some forum searches there are issues with the 550/650 toolheads. Jumping into the 300 blackout pool headfirst....
