Re: Is the sellout starting to form?
...Enter the name, height, weight, home city and state. That's it... Would be uncomfortable giving a complete stranger this info. Of course I'm as paranoid about personal stuff as anyone you'll meet. The hits on this general data will be pretty high. Wonder how many Bill Smith's reside or used to r...

Re: SBR ownership in MI
SBR's in Michigan are not prohibited by State Law they are prohibited by the State Constitution, thus the Attorney General cannot simply write an opinion regarding ownership (i.e. Machine Guns and most recently Suppressors). Making SBR ownership legal in MI will require legislative action at the lea...

Re: American Rifleman Oct 2012
If you look up how a capping machine for straight walled steel (or aluminum) cans works, you'll have your answer. They use rolls mounted on a head, think of enfield's example of the english wheel, only multiple forming dies mounted in a spinning head, each roll/die combo comes in at a specific time ...

What is a Spiked OD?
Also, how do you create a threadless tube? (I can think of a monocore...but that's about it)
Thanks!

Re: My Form 1 22lr can
Those are nice machines, I've used them many times when working in the jewelry business. You can do a lot with those machines with a little tweaking and patience. For example: You can cut a set of templates for round surfaces, takes a bit of work, but worth it. Set the machine to do a 1:1 (100%) Get...

Re: Baffle Pattens????
As someone who holds a patent, and has had to defend it, I can assure you someone using your design causes great concern. In my case, the person had used my exact design, produced 100k units, and was retailing them on the West Coast, when I contacted him he said "my lawyer said I didn't have to...

Re: UZI Non SBR Question
Alumaweld = NO Heliarc or MIG (aluminum) = YES? (same deal, blind pin, probably tool steel or something equally hard, thru barrel jacket and shroud, welded over) Not trying to be a pain, just clear so I don't mess up. The only bars I EVER wanna see have soft lighting, good music, and decently priced...

Re: UZI Non SBR Question
Thank you Bender, I was pretty sure "in lieu" was not appropriate BATFEeeeese! :D So I will need to use a steel outer tube, blind pinned, then the pin hole welded closed using arc, mig, tig. Well, that is a small challenge in the bigger scope of an AR-7 bullpup, the trigger mechanism is go...

Re: UZI Non SBR Question
How would this work with an aluminum barrel and shroud? I read the NFA portion of the law regarding drilling, blind pinning and welding or using 1100 degree silver solder to affix a suppressor or tube/shroud. I have always wanted to make an AR-7 Bullpup (I know, I know....but they are fun as hell on...

Re: Front end cap gas exit?
Yep, that pic is the one I saw. I should have posted a link, sorry. So the term "venturi" is misleading then....my experience with venturi effect has been in the paintball arena where we (in the waaaay bygone days of my misspent youth) would do whatever we could to get multiple jets of CO2...

Front end cap gas exit?
Hello all, Now with Michigan coming on board with allowing suppressors. I have been doing some research (either to purchase a can, or build my own on Form1....decisions, decisions....) and found this regarding a Quest suppressor. "The front endcap has been additionally machined inside and outsi...

Re: Has anyone tried to spin the gases ?
If the corkscrew baffles were stacked and alternated you would create considerable turbulence though right? Spin it right, then left, then right etc...
Just a thought.....

New to the forum.
Just wanted to say hello, I've been prowling for a while, reading, learning, and getting some good laughs too (particularly the Red Jacket/Sons of Guns threads....what a hoot!) I live in Michigan, and the former AG rendered an opinion in 05 regarding machine guns, but sadly, the question he opined d...
