I am a huge fan of Savage bolt actions. That is one very cool project. Great job!

Re: ar gas pistion with a can
I run two retrofit adams arms piston uppers- one 11.5 and one 16. With the can they are a little louder than my DI uppers but stay cleaner in the chamber area and run cooler. Plus being able to "regulate" the gas is kind of cool. And it is not loud just a different "clack sound"....

Re: Form 1 build. Baffled by options...
How thick should I make the front part of the baffle, especially the blast baffle? Also would beefing up the inernals allow safe and adequate (not optimal, I know) on rifle calibers, other than the 300 blk mentioned before?

Re: Form 1 build. Baffled by options...
So I got lucky with my F1 can. I had the 304 Seamless DOM for the tube and have a ton of 304 round stock. The tube is 1.5" OD .065 wall. I sent it off to my engraver (07/02) and he threaded it as well. Took care of that one. My next question is with using K's, do I need an expansion chamber? Ho...

My Sandstorm is doing great too. I know there are some unhapppy users, but I have run everything through mine with no problem.

Re: Form 1 build. Baffled by options...
The barrel itself is good to go. That I can fit through the headstock and thread. The internal threads on the tube are difficult because of the length of the lathe- just a 7x12. With the tailstock on, it makes it awfully tight. Cannot fit the tube through the headstock, and the steady rest only goes...

Form 1 build. Baffled by options...
Long time reader, few posts. I have a Form 1 approved in hand for a 9mm 9in oal suppressor build. I wanted to build it intially for my dedicated 9mm ar sbr 7" but am looking at 300 blk also. I have two 300 blk uppers- 10.5 and 16. I have 1.5" .065 6061 seamless and 304 1.5" .065 seaml...

Re: WTS: Stainless tube and round stock
Got two feet of the SS tube in yesterday. Absolutely fantastic. Way better than similar "advertised" stuff I had gotten from online suppliers (fleabay, etc.) . Buy with confidence. +1 for SigOwner!

Done, thanks for posting. And WTF is a "prairie chicken"? Is that a euphemism for something like Rocky Mountain Oysters? http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4027/4451210668_f8fa4ce7c0_z.jpg I was wondering about that too and looked it up. I am from the desert area in West Texas, have gone out ...

Re: Trek Vs Halo...
I can't speak for the Halo, but I love the Trek. Best I can tell the only difference between them is the mounting system(?). It works well on everything from 16in gas piston ar's, my 11.5 inch ar sbr, 22's, etc. It is a little heavy but I couldn't afford the Trek-T at the time, being that I bought a...

Re: NFA TRUST Turnaround time
I did my trust back in June 2011. Sent off my first form 1 a week later, mid June. My dealer did two Form 3's for Gemtech cans at the same time. The Form 3's got approved and we sent off the Form 4's. The Form 4's went pending 8/1 and the Form 1 went pending 8/19. I got the Form 4's back on 12/16 a...

I used Sean Cody for mine. Great experience and not too costly.
