Re: SilencerShop and Liberty Suppressors calling it quits!
MAP is MAP, minimum advertised price. You can sell for less than MAP, you just can't advertise for less than MAP. Do you have examples of SS advertising at less than MAP? Brent at Liberty (and Henry at Rugged) don't approve of the "login to see our super special price" workaround for MAP,...

Or just don't like the practice regardless of what you think MAP means. It really depends how their contract reads.Conqueror wrote:No, he doesn't, because no one does. This was all caused by manufacturers who don't know what MAP stands for.

IIRC silencerco told my friend that if he planned to do more usage on his 5.7 that they recommended the Spectre II. It does tone it down nicely.

hey guys...well i decided one more go at it just to see if i was going crazy and just being over critical of the sound thing...went digging thru the ammo pile and found a case of cci quiet 22lr subs and went for a test run on my bolt gun...had the normal first round pop but got much quieter for the...

Re: Integrally Silenced 77/44 chambering and reloading quest
1:11 Wow! compared to all the other 44mag rifles I've seen I thought the factory 1:20 twist was a fast twist barrel on the 77/44. Yep, those "Silent Destroyers" had a tendancy to shoot a bit of a shotgun pattern when loaded with the really big, slow, sub-sonic bullets people shooting sile...

Re: 9mm pistol cans on 357/38 rifles; who's doing it?
any particular reason ya'll went with the 38/357 w/ 9mm can vs. a 44special/mag with a 45 can? I'm about to get a 45 can and have been looking at getting my 96/44 (ruger lever action 44mag, same basic idea as the 77/44) threaded but I've seen some going with the 357/9mm route recently. I was thinki...

20" Rossi 92 in 357/38
I use my Osprey, Octane, and HTA Guardian on it at times.

Piece of advise: Never leave the thing uncleaned, that bluing will turn a finger print into rust in no time, get it cerakoted if you get the chance.

Re: Can the Octane 45 handle the pressure of .44 Mag? .44 S
Works fine of 44magnum, so does the Osprey 45 http://i.imgur.com/eQZfvuw.png http://i.imgur.com/BhppZph.jpg I've metered it as well the 44 spl was very quiet, the 44 magnum was right on the line of hearing safe. I did send this rifle to Silencerco to have them approve it with the use of both the Oct...

Re: Would a 6" Sparrow make the Spectre obsolete?
I've seen and heard Liberty's Kodiak Ultra, Spectres, Sparrows, and other cans on a whole myriad of 22 hosts. I'm coming to the point that I think there is simply a level of "bullet noise" that can't really be brought down any further holding bullet size and velocity constant. Even very lo...

Re: 9mm can
As for suppression, between the Octane and Tirant they are really about tied. Meter numbers change with ammo, temp, and elevation. The averages between the two could be higher or lower than the other on any given day. Have you shot an Octane9? Have you shot a Tirant9? Have you shot a Mystic? Have y...

Re: My first can Question
44spl is really low pressure, I would feel safe shooting it through a Tirant
44magnum runs fine through my Osprey and Octane on a 16" barrel, so I imagine the Tirant would be fine

Re: 9mm can
The Tirant excels because as marcus99 said "quietness and lightweight". The TiRant is takeapart, it is quiet (last I saw more quiet than the octane), and lighter than the Octane and the Mystic. I own both the Tirant and the Mystic, while you can use the Mystic on a pistol, and it's not ba...

Re: 9mm can
I own a Hunter Town Arms Guardian 9, Osprey 45, and Octane 45 If you are always going to shoot jacketed rounds and only on semi auto handguns, then I would go with the Osprey. You'll never need to clean it, but you can have Silencerco clean it for free if you feel the need to in a few years. If you ...

Re: Suppressor on a Glock 42
I made the barrel from a left over stub off a 9mm blank. It took several hours to make the hardest part was cutting the lug on the bottom of the barrel. The DeGroat Nano silencer is so light it did not need a piston to work. It was not as quiet as I hoped but still seems hearing safe. I do not have...

Re: mp5sd barrel porting
I wonder how the porting would affect a 115 grain bullet in a standard 8.85'' MP5 barrel? Not enough to bring them down to subsonic velocities? What is the problem there? Just start with 30 and go on if needed, its easy to make more holes. Just make a jig that helps you to machine the holes in the ...

Anyone have any plans, blueprints, etc to mimic the barrel of a MP5sd? my SOT buddy is looking to make one and wants to be able to cut 9mm NATO down to subsonic like the HK does.

Re: Raised sights for suppressed Glock?
I use ameriglo night sights on my Glock, I really like them, but I seem to shoot better with tall sights on all my guns.
Picture isn't the best for this purpose, but it was the best one of the sights I had handy.
