Re: Lathe Accident: WARNING NSWE, very graphic

A co-worker was running a lathe and his shop apron got caught in the lead screw. Its relatively slow compared to the spindle and it ripped his apron off pretty quickly. One minute he was working in front of me and in an instant he was standing there topless ( no shirt or apron ) and lots of red mar...

Nice looking lathe you have. How much does it and the stand weigh? I am moving to WA. State and buying a house trailer and i know weight is going to be a factor in deciding what to buy. Stay safe. :D

30 ARX

I have been reading about the 30 ARX. It is a 6.5 Grendel case necked up to .30 Cal. Should be nice in a T/C Encore or handy rifle. Have any of you tried this one out yet and what are tour thoughts?

I have been to Arlington National Cemetery twice in the last 6 months. You are a different person when you leave. We take life for granted so much but after a trip to Arlington life seems different, even before you leave something comes over you that words cannot express. It takes a while to smile a...

I've been licensed and been active for 26+ years, currently hold an Extra class license. Last year when we had the earthquake in VA, no cell and SMS texting had a 5 minute lag time at a minimum. Something else to look into is winlink/airmail, it give you the ability to do e-mail from pretty much an...

Re: Why the spacers between washers?

One day i was at the local dealer's shop and he had a Norinco 22 lr with a store bought can on it. It was very quiet much more then any other cans he had. He told me that he drilled a hole through the barrel but only on one side not both. The hole went into the threads and he said that the gas went ...

Re: accuracy issues with 338 suppressor

Is the torque on the action screws correct? Is the stock pillar beaded? If so you might want to check to make sure the recoil hasn't broken them loose, also check the recoil lug area, I always use a beveled and heavy duty rcoil lug that is ground flat. Wind chaser.

Re: .223/5.56 What gives the best stopping power.

Unless you score a CNS shot like I mentioned, the difference in a 55gr and 75 gr will not be a dramatic comparison. It depends on the bullet. A 55gr HP bullet will have much less penetration that a 70+gr HP, and if the bullet doesn't go deep enough to get to vital tissue it can't work well. Any of ...
