Re: Saker 556 Issue

I should also mention that I contacted SilencerCo's support about the issue and I absolutely give them an A+. Not only did they respond quickly and give me suggestions on how to break it free, but they also offered to replace the MAAD mount and FH so they can take a look at the one I have to see if ...

Re: Saker 556 Issue

Success! I got a couple of strap wrenches, attached one to the MAAD mount and the other to the body. After a false start where I discovered the mount wasn't wrenched down tight enough to the body (and another where I smashed my fingers when tightening the lock ring which was my own stupid fault), I ...

I've thought of this as well. It's on my list of things to try after these other attempts.

Re: Saker 556 Issue

Well, I soaked it in some penetrating oil, but that didn't seem to loosen it up. This is what I reccomend: after you soak the mount in kroil, loctite or rockset the mount back on and let it fully cure (24-48 hrs). Don't shoot the rifle while your waiting. The try to remove the suppressor normally. T...

Re: Saker 556 Issue

Can you get a wrench on the back of the mount or put it in a vise and work on it that way? I don't see how. The FH barely shows anything when the can is mounted. However, I have been able to pull the can itself off and expose the front of the FH. Unfortunately, the mount is round and doesn't provid...

Re: Saker 556 Issue

Blue will melt away fast, and you'll be in the same boat again. You're better off spending the extra coin on more FHs for the other hosts. You bought a premium can, now nut up, and buy the extra mounts. :D The fact that the can is going to live on a different rifle has nothing to do with the fact t...

Re: Saker 556 Issue

Possibly a little penetrating oil like kroil on the threads and let it sit for a bit. I put some of my froglube in there last night. It's not as powerful as kroil, but hopefully it has helped. Once you get it apart, you need to apply some Rocksett, and properly torque the FH to the host. I bet that...

Saker 556 Issue

I got my Saker 556 yesterday and took it to the range today. I absolutely love it. I'm looking forward to taking it outdoors where it can really shine. I am having a problem with it though. When I got home, I let the can cool off on the rifle (it's mounted on the trifecta flash hider), but I can't g...

AK Trifecta Mounts

Are there any plans to make Trifecta flash hiders and/or muzzle brakes for AK's? My Saker 556 was just approved (to which, I have only one response to this: WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!) and I would love to be able to put it on my AK74. I haven't found any thread adapters that would work. Some searching su...

Re: 30 cal can for precision shooting

I know money is always a issue but a integral suppressor is possibly the best way to go for a precision rifle. They can be more accurate, without POI shift plus you don't have this ungainly weight attached to the end of your barrel.Cost would be about the same as a high dollar can.Lets face it most ...

Re: 30 cal can for precision shooting

Thanks for all of the input. I'm leaning away from the 300-TM because it's about the same price as the 30P-1, and I'd choose that over the 300-TM. I currently have no plans for a semi-auto 30 cal any time soon, so volume of fire will be relatively low. The harvester is rated to 300 win mag, which is...

30 cal can for precision shooting

What 30 cal can would you recommend for a bolt action precision rifle (probably a Rem 700 SPS AAC-SD)? I'm primarily looking for precision with suppression and weight coming in secondary. It would be nice if it's QD, but by no means is that required. I'd love to have a TBAC 30P-1, but I'm hesitant t...

Re: Which .22 suppressor?

For those of you who own .22 suppressors that have a "click together" baffle assembly (like the SWR Specre II and the Huntertown Arms Kestrel), how do you go about cleaning them? I've seen references to cleaning them using ultrasonic cleaners/tumblers, but I don't own anything like that an...

Re: Which .22 suppressor?

Sheesh, enough with the pissing match. I'm not interested in a brand war here. If you re-read my original post, I never once said "best" (nor did I mention hunting). I'm purely looking for options, with pros and cons for each of those options. Anyway, it seems to me that with a .22 suppres...

Which .22 suppressor?

Which .22 suppressor do you own (or want to own) and why? I'm looking to get my first one soon (as is evidenced by my other thread) and wanted to get opinions on the choices out there. I'm leaning towards the SilencerCo Sparrow. I really like the design (easy to take apart/clean, lightweight, really...

Re: Which Caliber?

I've been wanting a .22 bolt gun, I'm thinking that I can get one with a threaded barrel (or have one threaded). I'm heavily leaning towards getting the SS Sparrow, but that might change by the time that I get one. I think I can say pretty definitively that I'm going to go for the .22 suppressor fir...

Re: Which Caliber?

I'd recommend the .22 can, then from there a toss up between .223 or 9mm based solely on the information you provided. Im no expert, new myself, but thats basically what I did. I picked the two guns I shoot the most, then purchased cans based on them. I'm leaning towards the 9mm, though when it com...

Re: Which Caliber?

Sorry, thought the Rem was a Savage. Just start off with a 22 suppressor, EVERYONE should have atleast one 22 can. As for the M1 , you "can" cause damage (like bent op rod) if use Modern ammo that is hotter, lighter , or heavier than original mild military spec 150gr ammo. (Research M1 Ga...

Re: Which Caliber?

You can let people's shoot and hold your suppressor as Long as you are there. If it where me on a budget ( I have no budget  ) I would put a threaded barrel on your Savage and covert it to 300 blackout for quiet shooting with a 9mm can and sub sonic ammo's ( starting at $140 for the thread...

Re: Which Caliber?

Thanks for the inputs everyone. I'm still weighing my options. I intend to get the SilencerCo Sparrow as well as their Osprey in 9mm. I'm not going to go for the .45 version because I don't anticipate getting a .45 pistol of any kind for quite some time. I also wanted to mention that I do not hunt,...
