Re: Min diameter for 22lr monocore?

I made a 1.5" monocore for my 77/44 on a east german hobbymat lathe with 0,5" spindle bore. No worries at all. No need to thread the tube.. My suppressor was only 3parts.. a stainless monocore with just one chamber that threads into a 7075 monocore and a 316 stainless pipe as tube.. My lat...

Re: 3D Printed MonoCore - I (Pics heavy !)

Why don´t you print a mono core with integral cones ? You could print designs that are a lot better than that. Also, you could print designs that are impossible to mill.
For 22lr you could print the entire suppressor with a really course thread, and the just make a thread adapter for the gun.

Re: 44 mag monocore

Long time, no update, I did as suggested, and milled away the first slanting baffle after the stainless blast baffle, and then i bedded the action with epoxy and carbon fibre, Now the gun shoots 2moa groups at 100m with subsonic 300gr bullets! And it´s more quiet than before! ( more volume i guess) ...

Re: nylon baffles

Parker-hale made a 22lr suppressor with nylon or delrin monocore, not super quiet but perfectly working. It was kind of simple, just 2 threaded Alu caps, Alu tube and a monocore plastic baffle with big holes in it. Nice for UK, finland, norway and countries where suppressors are not registered. It w...

Re: 44 mag monocore

Thanks Gunny50! I will build a new one or make an integral, when i find the time, but it´s not a bad idea to try and mill away some of my baffles, accuracy cannot get worse and it will be interesting to hear if it gets much louder or perhaps quieter!! Soon i will have lots of time because i´m quitti...

Re: Advice request for .17Mach2 suppressor

I have a friend that has a dedicated 17hmr can, with k-baffels in aluminium, the first baffle gets eroded. but his can is huge compared to yours. i think it´s 1.5" od and 8" long, but its very quiet, if you just make the first baffle in stainless with a smaller bore, i think it will work g...

Re: 44 mag monocore

All loads are key-holing at 50m both 250 and 300gr i get 20" (groups!?) when the suppressor is off, it shoots 1-2" groups with the same loads at the same distance, I have shot 50 rounds through it, but i think it will go on the scrap heap! I will make a new monocore for it, or perhaps go i...

Re: 44 mag monocore

Update on this project, I have remove some more metal and machined for O-rings on the front and rear, Now the can was really quiet... But accuracy is really bad. Something is wrong, but i couldn't see any signs of baffle strikes. I made the bore bigger from 11,5mm to 12mm and the accuracy still is b...

Re: Internal pictures of 77/44 integral supressors ?

I guess that the barrel is not free floating in that design. That/s the biggest concern for me when thinking of doing a integral on min, i would need to pu a custom stock on it to make the 1.5inch tube free floating.
What kind of accuracy do you get out of toms design?

Re: Thoughts on adhesive for 22 suppresors

You can always buy or make a special tap for threading the tube on the lathe, it speeds up the process a lot. With a floating holder for the tap its fast and easy.

Re: Thoughts on adhesive for 22 suppresors

A note on adhesives, epoxy made for laminates are much stronger and cheaper than loctite. I have built a couple of windsurf boards, and epoxy with glass or carbon cloth is very strong, but its sticky, allergenic and time-consuming to work with. You could wrap the entire suppressor and endcap with a ...

Re: 44 mag monocore

Thoose shots were 250gr swc+ 5,5gr titegroup. The backstop is a very thick rubbersheet over sand whichmakes a lot of echo and sound. Since it was at 20m the it sounded like it was from the gun in the video.
300gr + 7gr of vv N340 was more quiet with a bit more recoil.

Re: should i thread a suppressor or weld it to the barrel?

If you are in the U.S i would get that barrel threaded or buy a threaded barrel, so u could use it on other guns. this http://www.brownells.com/mobile/aspx/search/product.aspx?pid=41591 and a 24x1.5 tap would be a easy place to start, but would cost you as much as a suppressor in the end. Who would ...

Re: Update on suppressed 32 acp

Nice Work! did you mill everything on a lathe? Does that 303 barrel have fast twist( 1-10" or faster) so you could use really heavy bullets? like 200gr, but then you would need a bigger case than 32acp, 357 necked down to 311 or 7.62*39

Done the stainless milling, Ohboy, it´s scary the vibrations with a 15mm endmill! made a wrong turn on the y-axis when i made radius cuts with a 10mm mill, but it will probably be strong enough anyway. I always envy the germans/austrians/other europeans who can have as short a rifle as they wish and it´s just another simple rifle to them.[/quote]

In Sweden hunting rifles must have 45cm barrel and shotguns must have 47cm barrel. Finnsih gun laws are alot better

Re: 44 mag monocore

I originally bought the rifle with the intention to make a integral. With. 1.5" ss. I got.
But there are some peculiars in swedish gun laws, a hunting rifle must have a 45cm or longer barrel which will make an integral long if i dont permanetly attach the tube or monocore.
