Re: ultrasonic cleaning???
Unfortunately that would be the High Temperature Cerakote finish that came off. I never clean the outside tube in the ultrasonic cleaner on my can. Yours is made of aluminum and titanium on the Ti-Rant and as you unfortunately found out shouldn't be cleaned that way. Stainless steel is fine for ultr...

Re: RCBS customer service comes thru for me - AGAIN
It's refreshing to still have companies out there that actually care about the customer! I have a bunch of RCBS gear, and will continue to support them because of there customer service.

I use a cheap Harbor Freight cleaner and a 50/50 mix of Purple Power and water. Works pretty good on my Sparrow.

Re: 22 Suppressor for rifle & pistol
My Silencerco Sparrow has never let me down. I use it on both rifle and pistol hosts and it is great. It is all stainless so it is easy to use any method you like to clean it.

About 2 hours one way. But I had other plans in the area also. Plus the dealer is a full gun shop, so it's an excuse to buy more toys!

Re: Considering a can for a Marlin XT-22 bolt action rifle
Have any pics of the final product? Sounds like a nice setup. My buddy has the XT-17 and it would be an awesome gun with a threaded barrel for a can.

Re: Looking for Suppressor for Savage MARK II FV-SR
I use a Sparrow on my FVSR. I would have no problem running a Spectre II also if I had one. I also added a washer to cut the thread length down on the barrel to around .400 as my factory FVSR has an "ar" length thread on it.

Re: Is this normal
Well the Aguila target should be subsonic or close. But even when shooting the hv stuff through a rifle with my Sparrow I can tell a big difference. Get some known subsonic ammo and it should be far quieter. If I use subs through a pistol with the can and subs through a rifle also, the rifle easily ...

I like the Boyd's much better than stock. It feels like a real gun now instead of a cheap piece of plastic. I would buy one again for sure.

Re: Savage MK II
The Sparrow is so sick on the MK II FVSR! I love it. I can go out anytime of night an rip rounds off at the backyard range. It's about as totally silent as possible. Working the bolt is louder than the shot!

I see they are in stock now, but the last time I looked they weren't. As far as dealers go, there isn't much to choose from in Michigan in my area. And most are 4+ hours away which is just too far to go.

Re: CCI standard velocity ammo
I just got my Savage FV-SR today and tried some CCI Quiet through the Sparrow. It is totally quiet, all you can hear is the firing pin clicking, nothing more!! I am more than impressed with it so far. Pistols are at least hearing safe, or better and the rifles are giggly quiet!

Re: CCI standard velocity ammo
It's only a big deal if you are shooting past 12 pm and want to be super quiet for the neighbors. Otherwise, it doesn't matter to me. I shoot all of my hosts now without earplugs and I don't get any noise loud enough for ears to ring. It is very quiet on a pistol, but I think there are still even be...

Re: CCI standard velocity ammo
I would say the 10/22 is the best with subsonic ammo, but the Mk III can run high velocity stuff and keep it subsonic. Overall, I would go with the 10/22 for best sound reduction. I have a Savage FV-SR waiting for me and I think that will beat them all. As for the FRP, it's there on the MK III. I ne...
