I had mine threaded. The front sight had to be pulled, the barrel turned down so it could be seated further back and expose enough barrel to be threaded. I wanted mine to remain iron sighted as well. Works great with RWS subsonics.

I talked to Ritten yesterday (i'm also in Louisiana) looking to get a 10/22 TD threaded. He cannot remove or replace the sight on a barrel. Also, he' can't do a barrel less than 7 inches.
