Re: Help with my Berrys/N320 9mm load

What hosts? If you're consistently shooting pistol hosts you can probably do a one size-fits all OAL, but you may need to vary it based on how they feed or chamber in a carbine. I shoot a lot of subsonic 9mm through Glocks and I solely use Titegroup, not VV powder, but from looking at my hand load n...

Re: 5.56 can on a .22lr & stabilization with .22lr SSS ammo

You don't need to use subsonic ammo in a .22 pistol; standard velocity ammo is still subsonic out of a shorter barrel. Heck, even CCI Mini Mags will be subsonic out of a MK III. My suppressed .22 pistol sounds a whole lot different with dedicated subsonic ammo versus supersonic ammo that doesn't ac...

Re: Good thread-mounted 5.56 suppressor?

The Ranger 3 is super light and great price. Since AAC lists the dB reduction as 28-30, I'd have to hear it before I bought one and see how the tone compares to other similarly priced cans that have a claimed higher dB reduction. I know numbers aren't everything, but until you hear them in person th...

Re: Good thread-mounted 5.56 suppressor?

You rated Hoplon as a material (rather than a baffle design, No I didn't. But from kingjamez's post, both seem to apply. If you didn't, your "Hoplon > inconel > stainless" equation was misleading. And SilencerCo's website indicates Hoplon is the name of the design, and like I already quot...

57 Fairlane, it's not a threadmount but these photos are from AR15.com, this is the inside of an M42K after about 8000 rounds of M193 through a 10.5" SBR, with the use of a brake absorbing the bulk of the flame cutting/erosion. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg76/gi57/M4-2000/PA152021.jpg W...

Re: Good thread-mounted 5.56 suppressor?

Like JasonM said, there is no one-size fits all solution to suppressors. I said your intended use/purpose should guide your decision primarily and other things are secondary. I didn't say "Don't take customer service" or anything else into consideration. People buy things for all types of ...

As far as lifespan: Hoplon > Inconel > Stainless. My favorite 5.56 cans so far: ................. Are they your favorite because you have them and use all of them? Or are they your favorite because of how they look on the internet? Not trying to be a dick about it, but you have to evaluate needs vs...

Fireman, I see your Coliseum picture and call. Nice lol. I went to Rome and Florence in 2009 and Rome again in 2012. Man the food is SOOOOOO GOOD! Re: Good thread-mounted 5.56 suppressor?

Most 5.56 suppressors are going to have a similar decibel reduction, but what may be difference is tone or pitch. I would recommend finding a dealer that has suppressors you can test or people local to you so you can hear some of them. Here are some links to thread on 5.56 cans: YHM Phantom $635 htt...

OAL = Overall length.

There could be slight differences in a factory threaded barrel vs an aftermarket make.

I only had 5,000 rounds of .22lr when the shelves emptied and I feel woefully understocked. I stopped shooting .22 and just stick to calibers I have more of and that I can reload.

But lets see some photos!

It would be even better if there was a "revolving" set of pictures that show up. That way every time you sign on there is a different pic to check out :) I like this idea. Members submit their own photos, give rights to the site to use in an intro page picture show that refreshes every fe...

Then Doubloon's post should have been sufficient to resolve the issue or a moderator could have moved the post, yet SigPro felt that his name calling and insults were somehow constructive, which makes this site seem like nothing more than an AR15.com stepchild. I thought this site was leaps and boun...

I've had them take anywhere between 10 days and 21 days to cash my checks. However, it does take their systems a little while to update as far as the pending status goes. I called one time, lets say on the 10th of the month to check, and they had no updates in the system. Gave them two weeks and cal...

Re: Thread on can: Best way to keep it from unscrewing

Vibra Tite's temperature range is maxed out at 165 degrees....teflon tape (PTFE teflon) has a melting point of 625 degrees. Since Vibra Tite doesn't "lock up" I don't know if it'd do anything teflon tape can't. The big point: I don't think I've ever even seen Vibra Tite before. But I'm alw...

Re: Thread on can: Best way to keep it from unscrewing

Well, I opted for a couple drops of threadlocker and tightening the can on. Worked pretty well...I hand tightened it and bumped it with a wrench (my can has wrench flats) to get it a few pounds over hand tight. I shot probably 30 rounds after a few hours with no problems and it was all dry. Unscrewe...

Please let me know...because the 242 is not working and I don't think actually attaching the suppressor then backing the threads off later for transport or cleaning will produce the desired results.
