Re: URX 4 Questions
The URX 4 has about a 1.56" inside diameter. I have a customer who was considering trying to fit an OPS Inc can inside one. That configuration will *barely* fit.

Got it. He's a good guy. I ask because it is good to know who uses red loctite so when someone sends an upper that requires disassembly, I can plan and even charge accordingly. As you know now, dealing with red loctite is a huge hassle. My list grew today. :^)pathfinderheli wrote:PM sent...

Re: Red Loctite...
I used a propane torch... like the plumbers do... The upper and URX are Cerkoted and the coatings held up just fine so I'm assuming there is no damage. Even better. Propane burns a little cooler than butane. I did notice that the barrel seems to fit quite loose in the upper. Never noticed this befo...

Re: Red Loctite...
Ugh -- red loctite on URXes sucks IMHO. I've applied quite a bit of heat to redloctited URXes in the past and I haven't had any problems. Regular butane torches don't get hot enough to readily melt anodized aluminum. Aluminum oxide has a melting point right around an air butane torch's max temperatu...

Re: EMR - what's it worth
I wouldn't pay much more than $4000 for it given that MSRP on a new ER (pretty much the same gun) is $4368.00. SR-25 scarcity might make it more valuable.

Ya -- I get it. I'm willing to bet it is either phosphate coated or black oxide not painted.amuroray wrote:I think it is painted black. Try rubbing the exterior with alcohol and you will notice.

Re: Coating on MAMS (painted black??)
I was wondering this myself, I wonder why they didn't use that green coating like the triple taps. It seems like a standard phosphate type coating to me. I've installed many MAMS and other muzzle devices and it seems like there can be residue from the coating process left in the threads. I don't th...

I don't have a wrench I can rent but I'd gladly disassemble your upper for you gratis if you like. Same day turnaround.pathfinderheli wrote:Yeah, that's what I think happened... I think the cerakote guys were afraid to drive the pin in very far for fear of it contacting the bCG. Snt you a PM about the wrench.

M4-S
Does the M4-S require a sleeve and properly profiled barrel as well? I was hoping to put one on my 11.5" barrel and I'm afraid I don't have enough barrel protruding from the rail to fit a sleeve.

The one pictured is from installation. I advised the customer that if it is torqued on that the rifle should be fine but I think he was concerned about the aesthetics.hs338lapua wrote:Is the buggered barrel nut from unsuccessful removal or impropper installation?

Ops Inc 12th Model Suppressors Available
I'm a new Ops Inc dealer and I'm getting my first shipment of 12th model suppressors in soon -- the Form 3s just cleared ATF.
If anyone is interested, I'm selling them for $950.00 + shipping to your favorite Title II dealer.

Re: URX 3.1 install?
I use a BernzOmatic butane torch . It doesn't get hot enough to damage anything and you can apply direct heat for over 5 minutes. On standard removals (blue loctite) I start by heating the area around the nut for five minutes. And this always works for me. This is a titdbit I learned from Neil @ the...

My KAC Shot Show Wish List:
* 10.75" URX 3.1 (extra nice if it could come with the integrated front sight).
* MAMS - 5.56 and 7.62
* 14.5" SR-25 (already dashed on another forum I think).
* A non-QD Aimpoint Micro mount.
