You'll know if you need to re-do it when your brake screws off with your can.

Re: Why not more threaded barrel makers?

EVERYTHING can have a threaded barrel....it just a matter of how much time/money someone wants to invest in it. Yea, I guess you are right. Im not personally willing to make, what I would consider, a major modification to a slide just to get a threaded barrel to work. I would(and did) sell the gun ...

Re: Why not more threaded barrel makers?

One reason some guns arent done at all is the barrel wont fit into the slide. The S&W MP45 midsize is like this. I have read of a few guys getting it to work without opening up the opening in the slide, but most guys just give up.

Re: Powder speed for quietest 300 blackout?

Faster for sure. That holds true no matter what the round. Also going to single base vs. double base in theory is quieter due to it being a cooler burning powder(single base that is). There are guys loading TiteGroup with the 300BLK for bolt guns subs. I think 4g of Titegroup with a 150g FMJ so a re...

Re: NFA items and wills

The bank teller/manager may have said that not knowing that they are federally controlled and registered AS FIREARMS. FDIC/NCUA will NOT pay out if there are firearms in the claim, so even if the bank teller/manager says its not a firearm, they go by Federal definitions.......just something to keep...

Re: NFA items and wills

As long as the NFA are locked somewhere to which only she has access then she is legally "in possession". You may want to check on the legality of storing firearms in a safe deposit box at a given institution. I've asked the SOT question before, I think, and I don't believe the SOT can &q...

NFA items and wills

To preface this, I have looked in my local area for an attorney who was versed in NFA items, I couldnt find any, but maybe somebody can help me out(I live in St. Louis, MO). I have a few NFA items. They are all individually owned, not on a Trust. I have a will. I need to add my NFA items to my will....

Re: Where to find 1/2x28 and 5/8x24 stuff... to fix 51T?

I had to clean one of my mounts(on my AAC 9" 300BLK upper) threads because the can was getting stuck on the mount and was very hard to put on due to carbon build up. This was after at least 3000 suppressed 300BLK subsonics though. Im not worried about a tiny loss of accuracy though with a clean...

Re: Brakeout Fouling Issues

The threads on mine were so bad on my 9" AAC 300BLK upper that the can wouldnt thread off(it would go on just fine, but I could hardly get it off). I took a wire wheel on my dremel and made quick work of it.

Re: Doc Dater says ti better than steel for heat, and more

The leading edge of the turbine blades on the plane I fly are supposedly titanium(or more likely some kind of titanium alloy) coated for wear resistance. Dont know what the blades themselves are made of. We operate them above 900c(1650+F) during takeoff, I would say mid 800's C is where we operate t...

wildly overstated claims of performance. Best things we heard at SHOT from guys that, most likely, make their cans in their garage or basement: "So how do your cans meter compared to say a Spectre II or Element(insert whatever we were comparing them to)" "Oh we meet or exceed their p...

Re: Short uppers in safe with non SBR'd lowers

If you have complete Title1 lowers without uppers and extra Title2 uppers you are asking for problems. They won't come after you specifically for constructive intent, it would be used as icing on the cake of other charges. That said, if you know it is wrong why would you do it? I personally dont/di...

Short uppers in safe with non SBR'd lowers

There is a guy on another forum who is claiming that an ATF NFA specialist(never heard of this myself) NOT an examiner has told him this: You have a registered SBR lower You have multiple uppers for said SBR lower(legal) You have several built Title 1(non-SBR) lowers If you DO NOT have a Title 1(i.e...

Best I have heard was a Thunderbeast. I think it was a 30BA on a GAP Crusader.

It was quieter than my SDN6 on my Rem 700 AAC-SD.

We were shooting the same hand loads.

From what I can garner most guys that go to aftermarket barrel's in the M&P's go with the KKM's. The storm lake drop ins I dont think do much as far as accuracy is concerned. Now if all you care about is threading, rock on. Email storm lake and KKM and see what they have. I know G&R Tactical...

I assume thats the AAC 51t Brake? If so I run one of those on a 16" LMT MWS and have zero issues across a wide range of ammo(150g FMJBT, 155g Noslers, 168g SMK's from various manufacturers, 175g SMK's from various manufacturers and hand loads). Only thing I can think is possible de-stabilizatio...

How many shims is it taking to properly align the brake? Like I said, I think I used 2 and had no issues like this. With only 1 washer I could see it being a potential issue.
