Re: AAC 762SDN6
I had a hard time finding info about repeatability and accuracy when I was first researching this purchase, so I'll focus on that. This particular mount/suppressor combo does exhibit the 51t wobble that I'd read about. It is so close to locking on the next tooth that I may go ahead and modify the b...

Re: AAC 762SDN6
This particular Vortex is the front focal plane version with a mil based reticle and .1 mil adjustments. I was shooting off of front and rear bags at 100, but I was a wee bit shaky for some reason. It was about 35 degrees, sunny, and with a negligible breeze as I recall. My load consists of Lapua br...

Re: AAC 762SDN6
Ik. I finally had some to post pics, albeit cell phone pics of questionable quality. The first is the last target I shot at 100 yards. The first group was the top left, and was unsuppressed and fired at the bottom dot. It measures at about .4 inches. The next is the bottom group which is 5 rounds, s...

AAC 762SDN6
I finally got the approval for my AAC 762sdn6 and thought I'd share with the group. I had a hard time finding info about repeatability and accuracy when I was first researching this purchase, so I'll focus on that. I use it on my 5.56 and 300 blk ar15s and on my Remington 700 .308 heavy barrel. The ...

Re: Stamps finally came in 171 Days (Spikes Compressor)
I'm not sure, but it looks very much like a cabinet handle attached to whatever door is behind the gun.
Very slick looking rig, by the way. My SBR and suppressor stamps are still being processed by the ATF.

Re: schedule A?
I was still a bit confused about this, so I contacted my lawyer rather than pester you guys. According to him, my trust us set up to use individual assignment sheets rather than a schedule A or schedule of assets. He also provided this link that I thought I'd share. http://www.guntrustlawyer.com/201...

Re: What's the longest you've ever waited?
My dealer only charges $15 if I purchase a suppressor elsewhere and have it transferred through him, but he has almost nothing in stock. I plan on doing my next one from Silencer Shop.

Re: POI change suppressed v. un-suppressed - Is this normal
You mentioned shooting at "full speed". Did you swap to subsonic ammo when you attached the suppressor? That would cause a huge shift in POI.

Re: SBS Engraved????
I'm not sure I completely grasp this, but here's the way I understand it. If you are creating a SBS or other NFA iyem, you must engrave it with your info. If you purchase one that is already registered, the original manufacturer has already done the engraving, so you don't have to. In other words, i...

Re: Sig 226 22lr threading the barrel.
According to this thread the P22 threads are M8x.75.

The threaded barrel will most likely not require fitting since it is the factory part. That is simply a disclaimer the retailer has to cover their butts.

Re: Sig 226 22lr threading the barrel.
It looks solid because it is. I personally just bought the threaded barrel and a SilencerCo thread adapter to use on my Sig 229 classic. The threaded barrel uses the same adapters as the Mosquito. On a side note, mine runs great on pretty much anything and sounds better than my Ruger. It is also mor...

Re: 45 colt muzzle pressure
The folks who wrote my Hornady reloading manual put a disclaimer next to their burn rate table that it is an approximation and therefore NOT reliable. They further stated that a powder may display different burn rates and characteristics in different cartridges, even ones with similar capacities. I'...

Libertarian Geek- While I don't exactly disagree with you, I do have a different take on things. Your premise that these posters "promote" negative myths or stereotypes might be more accurately worded "These posters exploit negative myths and stereotypes." Second, your conclusion...

Is there enough difference to justify a second can?
After I took the plunge and ordered my first suppressor, I figured I was going to be hooked so I ordered several more. I currently have a Kodiak TL, but a Spectre II, Octane 45, and a 762SDN6 are all in the works. My question is this: Is there enough difference between the SDN6 and a full size can l...

Re: $1800 762SDN-6??
Umm....guys, I don't particularly like Going Quiet's pricing, but it IS capitalism. I think he was also talking about people paying extra to get a can on the shelf rather than waiting for new inventory (and, thus, delays in paperwork). With that said, one of my favorite online vendors is currently c...

Shamrock- I very nearly bought a Mystic, but I decided to get an Octane 45 first. I already have a 762sdn6 coming to take care of the rifles.

Re: Liberty Kodiak TL
I still love mine. It took me a while to get it apart last time, though. I let it go a few hundred rounds to far before cleaning. One of the selling points for me was the video showing how to take the TL apart on Liberty's website. If a manufacturer trusts his product enough to tell me I can beat it...

Just a thought, but that 55k psi is chamber pressure. From what I've read, muzzle pressures are much lower for the BLK than 5.56. Sorry, I don't have any hard numbers right now.

Sig's reply was something to this effect: "These firearms originally had a 1 year warranty. The metal the slides are made of is susceptible to this, especially if stored in a humid environment. You are not the original owner, so we classify this as an "elective service." It kinda remi...

Indeed, it will not be covered. I will pay to have it fixed and then promptly sell or trade it for something more substantial. This will be the first gun I've ever sold or traded. I've always just saved up for the next one, but I doubt I could ever trust this one again. How do the 226 Classics compa...

Sig Mosquito Slide Failure
I had my first major failure of a firearm today. I've had firearms malfunction and sometimes even break, but never anything this catastrophic. My initial call to Sig says that since I purchased the firearm used, I will have to pay for a new slide (~$150). I'm going to call back later and see about t...
