Re: Zmachineworx belly up?

I could be wrong, but the info I had was that Zmachine made all the "baffles" for DM. Since DM is so backlogged, Zmachine was stopping the retail portion to concentrate on DM's orders. Yes, this has been going on for some time now. DM was producting the Z cones. People could just order th...

Re: Referrals wanted for: NFA Engraving & Tube Coating

I've used UnknownPro out of Greensboro NC (home based engraver). He can do it prior to it becoming a silencer part. He offers anodizing for Titanium. He is $25 I think. He usually texts me a video of it getting engraved the same day he gets the package, it is done and shipped back out.

Re: Alternative to SDTA and opinions?

The Zworx cones have a skirt that's ".668" so I figured 6 total will be about 4 inches total. If I stack them completely instead of spacers it'll take 8 baffles instead of 6. Apogee tubes does not have an internal spacer to fit their tubes.... so I'm stuck trying to find something that'll...

Re: Alternative to SDTA and opinions?

A popular can of the past (triple x warrier) did somthing like that but most people now run a tight even stack. The cones you mention with .50" spacers (which puts spacing at .75" I think with the skirts on the cones). I'm still skeptical you will get the parts from the vendor, unless SDTA...

Re: Alternative to SDTA and opinions?

The other poster discussing the 22lr threw me off.

I've tested 5.75-10" on 308 I think you would be better off with the 8" for 308. They are pretty good about modifying the forms via email/chat/calls.

Re: Alternative to SDTA and opinions?

I don't think you will get your order. Even before the latest round members on another form 1 board said their orders were not fulfilled and they eventually had to get chargebacks to get their money back. I just visited the site and was able to add hundreds of tubes to my shopping cart, which is a g...

Re: Looks like AFT just raided SDTA

It's not really a change in rules. An IOI was on a site visit (SDTA is a 07/02) and effectively told them they considered the parts silencer parts would take action against them if they continued to sell them. Its not clear if there is a process to appeal, as effectively no action as been taken agai...

Re: Form 1 Reflex Build

I want something a bit lighter, so Ti intenrals and ends this go around. Tube is slightly downsized from before, 1.5"x1.375" at 7", 7.5" OAL. Single clips, coned endcap, and radials this go around. Was aiming for 10oz.

I've often heard the 4.0oz thrown out as a general guide. You have some room to tune with hotter loads and lighter recoil springs.

Re: PreppersDiscount Q

On Solvent Trap builds, Diversified Machine makes the best parts but you have to catch them instock on website (they don't do backorders anymore). Otherwise I'd get a Apogee Products tube and SDTA Endcaps. After that Tube and Ends from SDTA. Texas Arms is making premium parts now and you can backord...

Re: Freeze Plug questions

Others have done the 3 legs. Most common build is a direct stack of plugs. Spacers can be problematic between the plugs, as the plugs are made to to pressed into a hole, some people have had them press into spacers.

Re: First form 1 can

I don't think the blast chamber spacer will qualify as a extra part. If all the parts fit in the "complete" configuration, I don't think there is a requirement that all parts be installed all the time. For example if you built a pistol can with 6 K cups, If you removed one and shot it wit...

Re: Endcap design question.

In a threaded endcap (in reference to the solvent trap parts) the threading has depth to it (about .45" in the most common application), where as in a commercial can it is a welded tube and the cone can be placed closer to the exit end. In that case in the commercial can with the baffle closer ...

Re: Spacer tube for B-tube 9mm build

There isn't anything stopping you from selling the solvent tube you have now and for less money buying a section of 1.375" .058 Grade 9 tubing, it would be cheaper and you would have a better finished product. Just my opinion.

If you have a lathe and machining ability why would just not buy the the more suited 1.375" OD .058" tube (that is the source of DM's product) and thread it?

Re: Spacer tube for B-tube 9mm build

The the tube is overly heavy to start with, so if it a lot of spacer material that is needed you might want to consider AL or skeletonizing Ti spacer. It is a odd size so you would have to have it made. If you haven't ordered the tube yet I'd get DM 1.375" tube, it is lighter with more volume, ...

In reading the forums I see a lot of vendors selling S/S and Ti solvent cups that will fit C and D cell Mag-lite bodies.
