Which of the current .45 suppressors fit my goals?
Cross posting this here since the responses I got elsewhere were largely conclusory without any foundation or background to support their opinions. I haven't been active on here in some time but I remember the feedback I got was always insightful and on point. I shoot exclusively 9mm suppressed and ...

Threading a Sig P210 (American)
Has anyone extended and threaded to 1/2x28 the barrel on one of the recent U.S. production Sig P210s? I have a P210 Standard on order with Sig's pro shop and when it arrives I'm itching to get it threaded if possible.

Re: G19 & Tirant9 Issues
Finally got around to trying my Tirant9 on my G17. 45rds...zero hiccups. Put the Tirant9 on my G19...two malfunctions in the first 6rds. So after replacing the RSA which resolved nothing I think I'll try replacing the extractor next, unless anyone has any other suggestions?

Re: Liberty Suppressors- Great Warranty
The threads on a standard M9/92FS barrel are shorter than your average 1/2x28 pistol barrel, so I've found that suppressors come loose even quicker on my 92. I had endcap knicks on my 92 with Octane...now I always run the 92 with pipe tape on the threads and check every 5-7rds...no issues since

Re: G19 & Tirant9 Issues
The piston and birdcage really aren't that dirty, but I can try cleaning the booster assembly out more. I always clean the piston where it meets the retaining cap, but I've never cleaned the entire piston.

Re: G19 & Tirant9 Issues
Is it possible that you've accidentally put a fixed-spacer into the booster as opposed to the spring? Are you able to screw the silencer on to the barrel, then pull the silencer forward, away from the gun, and twist it to "index" it? Is it possible that the spring of the booster is too ne...

G19 & Tirant9 Issues
My gen2 Glock 19 and Tirant9 are not playing nicely together. I'm getting stovepipes and failures-to-eject, often I can't get through a mag and once there were 12 within 100rds. This is not an ammo issue; I've tried various brands. I also tried replacing the RSA in the host and the issues still occu...

Re: Surefire Ryder 9-Ti
Admittedly I dont know as much about suppressors as some do on this board. Having said that, and taking all those specs as true, it seems like an interesting new can. $800MSRP ( so $600-650, which is more or less in line with the Octane and what the Tirant went for not too long ago), lighter than an...

Cold weather, dirty piston...mulfunctions on 9mm hosts?
A few days ago I took out two cans and two hosts: Octane9 & Mystic, plus G19 and P99. Both had clean pistons with white lithium grease between the piston and booster retaining cap. The temperature was about 25 degrees fahrenheit. After about 50rds through each can and each host, failure to feeds...

Winchester Train & Defend 147gr 9mm
Has anyone else seen this at Walmart recently? I saw it yesterday for $15 per 50rd box and figured I'd try it alongside my own subsonic 9mm 147gr plated RN reloads. 147gr target ammo is not easy to find, at least in these parts and for that price. I shot it through a G17 with Liberty Mystic. It was ...

I've shot goloud's and John_E's setup (very similar) and they're stupid quiet.goloud wrote:Mystic on a .38/357 Handi Rifle cut to 16".
With 38 wadcutters I could shoot it inside a library full of Nuns and I wouldn't even get a warning.

Re: Old Sionics can questions
People thread M11 barrels for 1/2x28 all the time to use with other suppressors. Am I missing something? or is it the weight of the sionics can that you're thinking would cause a problem? Yes, some people thread the tips of the stock M11/9 barrels to 1/x28 so that in essence the barrel has dual thr...

Re: Old Sionics can questions
- Original Sionics cans sounds great.
- The end of the barrel isn't really thick enough to thread to 1/2x28...there won't be much of a shoulder.
- Don't shoot lead through that nice old can.

Glock 17L as a host?
Does anyone run a G17L with a threaded barrel suppressed? I'm thinking about looking for a clean gen2 G17L, primarily because I really like gen2's in general, and I'm assuming a gen1 G17L will have a pencil type barrel like the G17 and thus not be compatible with a LW G17L threaded barrel. It seems ...

Re: Bowers Griptastic cover
I have one that i cut down to about 2" in length and have mounted on the mount-end of my Bowers VERS 9S. I use it primarily to keep the can tight on my fullauto M11/9 when firing. Really? That doesn't seem like much length to grip. I'd think after a couple of mag dumps you'd still run the risk...

Re: Original MAC 10/45acp suppressor
A properly maintained original Sionics two-stage can with fresh wipes is the quietest suppressor I've ever heard on an M11/9...and I've heard half a dozen different suppressors on an M11/9.

Re: Excessive Blowback From TiRant With G19 Host
Thanks everyone for the help. I've only shot the can dry and <drum roll> I'm loading with Accurate 7. Sounds like a faster burning powder with 147gr bullets is required. Anything wrong with using something heavier than 147s (like 158s)? When I first started loading 147gr 9mm I played with AA#7 and ...

Re: Which Liberty Mystic parts can be ultrasonic cleaned?
Well I don't exactly subscribe to the notion of cleaning suppressors often, but after shooting them wet today I felt it was necessary. I haven't had my Mystic for more than a month but I've run it through 9mm (semi & full) as well as a lot of .223 so I figured this was a good opportunity to give...

Which Liberty Mystic parts can be ultrasonic cleaned?
I'd call Liberty but I figure that they're closed for the labor day weekend. I'm planning to shoot my Mystic wet this weekend and would like to give it a good cleaning afterwards. I know the core and piston can go in the ultrasonic cleaner, but what about the spring and tube lock ring? I know the tu...

Re: Plated bullets through suppressor?
I'm still pursuing this. The other day I put all my 9mm hosts on paper to see what was shredding plating in my 147gr plated reloads. 3rds per host (5rds for the Max11 upper) unsuppressed. I think the first picture speaks for itself; http://i1349.photobucket.com/albums/p757/Marcus-99/Firearms/2014080...

Re: F/A rated 9mm pistol cans on F/A M11/9's
Still quite the cloud of smoke in vid two (bowers). stinky FA's. The SWR shouldn't have much FRP , even on the meter. Those were my 147gr lead reloads. I was getting gassed real good that day though regardless of the suppressed setup or ammo I was shooting. I guess the weather was conduci...
