Re: Does anyone have ideas for radical designs?
I have often wondered if an evacuator like device (think big thing in middle of large tank cannon barrels) could help in relieving back pressure increases...... perhaps in the form of a gas block with a expansion chamber secondary to the main gas entry point???? (think regular gas block/gas port, wi...

Re: Does anyone have ideas for radical designs?
I've heard some crazy stories . . . never seen/heard one in person  I do know of a guy who has a way around silencerco's patent on the clamshells . . . not sure why it hasn't gone into production somewhere. A few companies use a 'split sleeve'..... basically imagine very thin long roll pin...

Re: Building Suppressor for 18" .338LM
18" .338 LM barrel seems like a waste of perfectly good powder and bullets to me..... you really do lose a lot with that barrel length. 22" would nearly offset weight wise, with what you could do with materials and improve velocity and range (obviously) a good deal. 18" you have compa...

I know my last can took 3.5 weeks to be received by dealer. If they are a large volume dealer they may just be busy as hell.

Re: saker muzzle brake
Brakes will always reduce erosion to baffles... its why almost all my rifles have brakes for suppressed use. My rifle cans all have barely any noticeable wear even after a few K rounds in each. .. the brake baffles have some minor wear themselves though on the high count rifles, mainly on the inner ...

Re: A machinists comment on stellite....
Stellite was / is used in some. 50 barrels, valves and various applications that resist high temps & erosion. Hastoloys & inconel are great materials as well but not always the best choice in every condition. It comes down to design intent & conditions. Early M60 barrels had stellite li...

Re: Saker yhm mount Availability
The Y mounts should be available at the end of March early April. The A2 style ASR muzzle device has been discontinued. The only image I have seen of one is in the 2014 catalog I picked up at the NRA AM this year. Really wish they would have had one at the show. I do plan on picking up a saker 7.62...

Re: m110 suppressor on bolt action?
Any decent smith / machinist can do it. Would require custom contouring. If the barrel is amply thick, that is all you will need. If thinner where the locking lugs go, would need a custom adapter. It's doable, but would likely run a few hundred $$$. I haven't seen any readily available technical dr...

SWR has been completely absorbed by Silencerco. Same people, same quality, & same service. I think they just got tired of having to put 2 logos on all their stuff That and 2x FFL/SOT's, 2 sets of bound books, 2 audits possible per year, 2x ITAR payments and more.... It was a very very very smar...

Re: New Glock factory threaded barrel pistols
Well this is strange. What's the new parts other than for the 23? Glock already provides factory threaded barrels for the 17, 19, 21 since 2011 (through Acusport). All metric threaded. And they work with all generations AFAIK. It works perfectly fine in my gen2 G19. First Glock has made threaded ba...

Re: Silencer built with hand tools?
Khyber pass AK has become the new term for frankenAKs ad well as an AKM with AK74 furniture.
Its used jokingly and doent mean anything insulting frankly it is quite awe inspiring the fact they can build a functioning AK from scrap metal with simple hand tools that actually look like real AKs.

Re: Form 4 box 2a question
Thanks. For some reason an SOT used my middle name on my first F4, and every F4 after that got it as well (different SOTs). The newest one used my middle initial, didn't know if it would cause a kick-back or not. Again, thanks. Shouldn't as I have had several approved using middle initial... howeve...

Re: Huge POI shift on Savage FVSR with a Tac65
Roger that guys. I'm sending it back for warranty either way. Whether I keep it or not remains to be seen. I'll definitely wait until it comes back to make a decision. It is advertised as 'suppressor ready'... which means threads and barrel need to be within the common .005 industry standard and al...

Re: 9mm barrel length - opinions sought
6-7" shouldn't go supersonic for just about every 147 grain loading. when you hit 8+ is when you have the possibility in some of the 147 loadings that are doing 1050 from a 5" barrel. Most 9mm luger test velocity data is based on 4.5-5.25" long barrels. There is not much of a velocity...

Re: Huge POI shift on Savage FVSR with a Tac65
I had my parents over for the game tonight. I had my former gunsmith dad take a look and he says the threads aren't even close to concentric with the bore. Now, the question is: Send it back to Savage, possibly get another bad example and still end up with a gun that's too long in the threads or se...

Re: Eform Trust file too large
eForms allows up to 10 uploads of no more than 3 MB each, and it allows splitting your trust into multiple documents. So, that's definitely one option. However, you should be able to get your trust shrunk to under the 3 MB mark. Reducing resolution is one way to do it; reducing color depth is anoth...

Re: Issue with Silencerco Trfecta flash hider and PWS barrel
I appreciate it Andrew, but I literally just shipped it off to PWS. I went back to the gunsmith and on PWS’s suggestion, we tried mounting the flash hider on a tap and it went on a fine, but you can really tell the difference between a standard birdcage and the Trifecta. It’s almost like the Trifec...

AK47 pistol to SBR bastard build and converting another
Two questions for those who have more knowledge on various AK builds... First I have a romanian parts build I want to turn into an SBR. What would you suggest is the best way to do this? I want to be able to suppress it so thinking popping off the barrel and having it chopped squared up, crowned, th...

Re: Head up for anyone looking for factory loaded subsonic 9
I know midwayusa just got some in as well. Re: Eform Trust file too large
If your trust is 50 pages of text then you have something wrong. Never saw a text-only PDF of 50 pages that large on low resolution. Do you have image files of some kind in the file? I have a 51 page document that is about 25% non-text..... and it is 5.96MB I guess I'm not saving as text only and n...
