Re: New suppressor from Ruger....Ruger?
Looks good, interesting design. Knowing this place, there's going to be some incoming hate from garage silencer designers who know better than Ruger but for whatever reason have never turned their genius into a lucrative empire.

Re: Form 1 Modulars ie Silencerco Micro Osprey
Good afternoon all, I recently came across a video for the micro osprey rim fire can from Silencerco. Has anyone done a Form one design that is modular and gotten it approved? I understand the Salvo and a few items from Griffen Arms have been approved as modular designs. Would an individual be able...

Re: New feature on cone, question with pics
Laminar flow of chaotic & unpredictable gasses from the combustion of gun powder leaving a smaller aperture (the bore) and entering a larger space filled with convolutions is a total pipe dream. Not a knock on your design, could be good, just on the theory of a laminar flow being something that ...

Me too. At the risk of looking like a jackhole for not reading the whole thread, were/are these the older suppository shaped cans or the current gen version?JasonNC wrote:I'm guessing these are long gone. I would loved to have gotten in on this deal.

Re: Help me choose an integrally suppressed 10/22?
I've asked this before but maybe I'll get new opinions this time. What are pros/cons of keeping bulk pack ammo subsonic via a very short (4.5") barrel vs using ports that bleed to an expansion chamber on a barrel that's longer than 4.5"?

Re: My suppressor design
Honestly, this topic of patent infringement always annoys me. First off, how will they ever know? And do you really think a patent holder that stumbled over this thread would take the time to track down the posters identity and drag him to court? Do you really think that would be worth the time, ef...

Yea, this is a novice threading question....
I want to form 1 an integral suppressor for a 10/22 that would be similar to a Mist-22 in the sense that I want it to simply be the same OD & look of a bull barrel. Not planning to copy the baffle design so this has nothing to do with IP. My questions are... 1) How would one determine which thre...

You're using logic to analyze the actions of a gov't agency? I get that you're taking a cheap shot at them in an attempt to be humorous, but... Yep. Because while we may have political disagreements with the ATF, they are just a bureaucracy at heart. And they have a budget. As far as I know, Congre...

Re: Sparrow vs Element 2
I have a Sparrow SS and an Element 2. The sparrow is easier to takedown but even though my element 2 came with the removal tool I've been able to knock them out just by giving it a genuine tap on the work bench. I like both, a lot. I will admit though, when it comes time to show a new guy a silenced...

Re: Question about time between completion and engraving
I honestly don't get what's so difficult, some people are hyper insane about inane details. Use common sense, get what you need done. In all my years of following this crap, digging until my eyes were swollen from reading court documents, no one that I'm aware of has ever been charged much less conv...

Re: Future proofing your cans
Other than buying extra mounts I can think of only a few options, all potentially painful. 1) screw your rules and just buy direct thread cans. 2) you/heirs pay out the azz to a shop to recreate a mount 30+ years later. 3) you learn to machine it yourself and pass on knowledge to your heirs (good lu...

Re: Griffin 3-lug on an Octane...Yes
Trust me, I am aware of SWR and the SilencerCo history. Maybe not. SWR was initially founded by Joe Gaddini. Henry Graham, William Ellison, and I (Matt Pallett) took it over and improved, redesigned, grew the business until SiCo bought us out. Henry continued on with SiCo. I suppose I could have as...

I don't think I have anything to offer here (but maybe), so I'll just say... Who cares what your PISTOL groups are at 80 freaking yards?! You're obviously a good shot with your Glock! Yea, hanging 7"+ tube of Al & SS attached by a spring loaded piston is probably gonna throw things off at e...

Re: Check out the various documents that Sig & BATFE have filed in their litigation over the MPX brake.
Here's a funny little gem buried in Sig's latest motion for summary judgement (emphasis added by me). Testing conducted by Sig Sauer on the muzzle brakes shown in the ATF Letter (AR 821) demonstrates that assembly of an outer tube on virtually any muzzle brake creates a silencer. EL Dec. ¶ 34. ATF t...

Re: Check out the various documents that Sig & BATFE have filed in their litigation over the MPX brake.
Pretty clearly they - presumably both "they" - are dredging up a tremendous amount of related information from a variety of other products. I wonder who is submitting what, and for what reason. If I had to theorize, I would guess that Sig is bringing up other firearms with brakes on them....

Wouldn't this problem also apply to Griffin's Revolution 9 & 45 cans as well? If so, that's at least 2 different manufacturers, 3 different products... Either they know what they're doing is GtG or have accepted the business risk as acceptable should it later be deemed unlawful. I simply can't ...

so when can you change the design of a form 1 can?
So it's accepted that you can't experiment on a form 1. Let's say you're turning some baffles and you make a mistake... Can't you toss the mistake and start over? While we're at it, how in the world could you possibly end up in the clink for destroying a baffle (after use) and turning a new one if y...
