Re: 458 socom Silencerco Hybrid SBR sanity check

I also have a 10.5" 458S sbr and expecting the stamp for a Hybrid this month (filed it back in May '16). I have both called and emailed SiCo, asking *why* the Hybrid is only rated for 16", 458S rifles. Their first response was the muzzle pressure is too great. Then I brought it to their attention th...

I'm looking forward to seeing your test results. Will you be shooting it in the same rifle you described earlier?

Re: 308 subsonic loads for 5R

I will be shooting from a remmy tactical .308 SPS 1:12 twist rate. What is the heaviest bullet that will stabilize at 343m/s? Can I shoot a 200 grain scenar without problems like baffel strikes? How does the supressor affect the speed? Does it increase it due to it making the barrel longer or is th...

Re: Silencerco Osprey vs SWR Octane-9 9mm Silencer? or ????

Looking at getting my first center fire handgun silencer and had pretty much decided on the Osprey until seeing the new Octane-9. I'm looking at a dry hearing safe can for use primarily on my Glock 19 & 17. I'd also like to keep the length as short as possible. Appreciate any help.[;)] I can't spea...

Re: Pistol Barrel Thread Preference

The biggest advantage metric threads have is providing a firmer grip on the barrel. They rarely come loose and back off while shooting. It's mainly thanks to the Viton o-rings that metric threads use. But a less often mentioned reason is their LH direction; you rotate clock-wise to tighten. Barrel ...

Re: AAC at SHOT

I don't see how. It is braced. The Blackout flash suppressor is still best if you want the very best flash suppression and the lowest noise. This does not need timing. No shims. The BrakeOut2 is best if you want the best recoil reduction (equal to the best AAC dedicated brake) as well as flash supp...

Re: Octane 45

After 11 months I brought home my new octane 45. Ran 50 rounds through it as the sun was going down and I have half a case setting by the front door ready to go when the sun comes up tomorrow  Awwww Mannnn! Seeing this made me even MORE anxious for mine to come in. I just paid for it last ...

Pistol Barrel Thread Preference

I recently purchased a new pistol can (Octane 45 HD) and am now playing the "NFA Wait" game. While I'm waiting, I'm trying to do my homework/research to educate myself on my best options as far as thread design/pitch for the host's barrel - which brings me to the purpose of this post/question. Are t...

300 Blackout loads using Viht N32C (Tin Star)

Has anyone here developed a good subsonic load for 300 Blk using Viht N32C (Tin Star) powder?
I've got a nice load for the .308win using both 168gr Hornady HPBT and 220 Hornady Round Nose. Now working on the 300 Blk and was wondering if someone could offer a good starting point.

Peace-Out,

Re: 308 subsonic loads for 5R

Here is another Tin Star recipe if anyone is interested. I believe I was just over the line as far as getting under the sound barrier, as all had a fairly loud report. Although above the sound barrier, they were really fun to plink around with, hardly any recoil at all. This would be a great load fo...
