Re: NFA age restrictions

[quote="Magicman710"]Yep, you sure can. I have my own documentation to prove it. If you are going to go the individual route, I'd suggest doing what I do and that is include on a separate sheet of paper confirming that you are 18/19/20. Perfect! I am doing a can but it shouldn't mat...

Zastav M88a Thought?

So I was looking to get a decent 9mm handgun for Christmas. I don't have a 9mm in the collection so that is my first reason. I would like a gun that's durable and fun to shoot on the range and could be a concealed carry when I get my permit. I prefer an all metal handgun because I am just old fashio...

Any SOT transfers = You must be at least 21.

Any non-SOT transfers = You must be at least 18.

Awesome! Thanks.

I somehow forgot about this thread... Thanks for all the input! I am just wary because it already shoots sub moa and it only has a barrel diameter of .7 something.

Re: NFA age restrictions

Yes, you cannot BUY if under 21 but you can make. We had a member here get approved on a Form 1 that was under 21. Right I knew you couldn't do a dealer transaction. AH I am so happy. Thank you for the affirmation. Oh and it doesn't matter if it is for a suppressor or SBR correct? Tim to submit my ...

NFA age restrictions

OK. I have been doing some research. I can not find anywhere it states you must be 21 or above to posses or make an SBR or suppressor. So the real question in is... Will the ATF approve a form 1 submitted by someone 18,19,or 20? Does anybody know of somebody who has done so and what was the outcome?...

I recently put a tacsol integral sight rail on my 22/45 along with the fastfire iii. I was wondering an ideal range to set it in?

Re: Engraving

Yea that's the stamps I'm referring to. I am not worried about deforming the body as it will be around .18-.25" thick AL. It being AL should make it easy to mark. I plan on practicing a LOT. I was curious if it was a viable option. You know me always trying to save a buck LOL

A tax stamp?

LOL no. I'm talking about engraving information on a suppressor. The ATF requires the engraving be a minimum of .003" deep.

.17HMR barrel threading

Okay so I am debating on if I should have my savage .17HMR barrel threaded. I am worried that it will cause the gun to lose some accuracy, will it? I am not having the barrel cut in length just threaded. What are some questions I should ask the gunsmith so I know all the right steps are being taken?...

Re: First Form 1ever... LOTS of questions

I read a little about the anodizing before and it seems pretty easy. Now that you mention it I will definitely anodize it. Ok I will stick to rimfires for this can. Yep! I am using the same clearance. Drilling the bore hole with a .284 diameter bit. I thought about going smaller but decided not to....

Now that you mention a "lathe", tapping should be fine there  I sat on a form 1 for several years before I finally got my lathe, it really is the "best" way to make a good can. I'm not trying to sound a like a butt head at all. And in all seriousness, it would benefit you t...

Re: First Form 1ever... LOTS of questions

Aluminum is fine for rimfire and pistol calibers but you need to anodize it for protection from the nitric acid and the cutting of volcanic glass in rimfire priming compounds. You just can't get the best alignment using a tap trust me on that its not worth a bullet strike as they sometimes come out ...

Trusts are useful and are usually worth it. Start with a trust or pay another transfer later to get your item into your trust. Details can be found via a simple search. Don't you think that you may have left some design detail out in your last question? It reads as if you're going to make a centerf...

Ruger 22/45 Scope Mount

I recently picked up a NIB 22/45 mark iii standard model. It came with fixed sights and is also tapped for the picatinny rail mount. However, the mount was not included. Was it left out or must I buy it separately? If so where can I purchase one?

First Form 1ever... LOTS of questions

My main question is about the trust. Does it save time/money and hassle? Or does it really matter if I register without a trust? What are the benefits of it and how do I make a trust? If I were to transfer it to my name when I turn 21 would it still be a $200 stamp? Or does a trust prevent that? I h...
