Re: RECOIL Reduction WHEN Suppressed
We actually measured the reduction to be pretty substantial from shooting unsuppressed with no muzzle device to adding a can. Let me see if I can't find the numbers in my computer and post them later.

Re: Commercial Suppresor Costs
You have your manufacturing costs which include material, G&A and OH, Then your profit for future designs and work, that goes to a distributor who marks it up and then to a retailer that marks it up again. Thats your typical breakdown...

Re: Threadless(collet) supressor for 22LR
Thats a pretty neat design. You would probably still want to turn the OD of the barrel to make it concentric to the bore but this is a cool solution.

Re: Are Centerfire Rifle Cans Self Cleaning?
Try a very aggressive fire schedule and running at 900°+ for that and you will get some build up. Most people shooting a few mag dumps here and there won't see that need. Yep, when you run full auto you learn this very quickly. We build all of our suppressors user serviceable, the one I took...

Re: Are Centerfire Rifle Cans Self Cleaning?
Running hot will build up all sorts of crap. Ill share some pics from my testing. In my opinion down stream didn't get too nasty but the blast baffle and second baffle built up some crap. I had carbon and copper depositing from the jackets that build up pretty thick. Are we still talking about rifl...

Re: Suppressed 7.5 5.56
a couple of factors would come into play with your choice.
Whats your typical rate of fire and how high could that go at times.
Would you need it to be dedicated or could you use a muzzle brake to absorb some of that energy
I would then consider materials of construction.

I would imagine the barrel diameter is .750" but from that print I can model the entire end. What else were you missing? Grounded, My brake goes back over the barrel for a short section, so max other diameter of the barrel portion where it is shown concave would be helpful. ;-) Gunny Ah ok. I'...

Suppressor alignment rod
I know a while back someone here had asked about a means to easily verify bore to suppressor alignment. Someone had posted a drill rod size from mcmaster that worked for .308 but didn't have anything for .223. A thought came to me today about using EDM drill rod which can be sourced in any diameter ...

if you temper 4130 you can get great strength (i am looking for the yield vs temp charts). 4130 should definitely be on the list, maybe for outer tube and then a SS 321 of iconel blast chamber. http://s9.postimg.org/apgc7xj1r/4130.jpg Iconel is the champ http://s12.postimg.org/pa4q1d565/iconel.jpg ...
