Re: QD vs. Thread-on for 5.56mm suppressor
I think the question you have to ask is, why would you ever take a suppressor off an AR platform once it is mounted? Removing it kinda defeats the purpose of having one and unlike with a handgun where you may have to remove it to re-holster the gun there is no reason other than long term storage in...

That's the answer I was hoping for. Thanks!

6.5 Grendel & Specwar 7.62
Does anyone shoot 6.5 Grendel through their 7.62 Specwar? I've heard the Specwar first hand on a .308 with hand loaded precision ammo and it's what I would consider hearing safe. Amazing, really. I'm just wondering what kind of suppression you're going to get with 6.5 Grendel on say a 24" barre...

Re: 5.56 choices
Aged thread but still very valid. So I don't have any quick attach mounts, sounds to me that the cheaper specwar is the way to go. What is the difference in added length between these two? Which has the most suppression? What I found from my own research: The Saker is less than an inch shorter. Als...

Re: 5.56 choices
Other than the modularity, the main difference between the Saker and Specwar is the Hoplon Blast Baffle. Because of the added durability that comes from the Hoplon the Saker is rated for use on 5.56 barrels as short as 7". That's good to know. What's the minimum barrel length the Specwar is ra...

5.56 choices
Hi everybody, I'm pretty new to the forum and NFA items in general. I'm waiting on an Osprey 9, a Specwar 762, and a Form 1 for an SBR AR-15. I'm really liking what I'm hearing about Silencerco and SWR products, so I figured I would try them first. I'm now looking for a dedicated 5.56 suppressor and...

Re: Holstering with a silencer
Most of them have some type of positive locking mechanism that holds the trigger guard. You can set it so you have to hit a lever to release the lock. The Hogue holster shown in the picture has a T-bar (you can see part of it just behind the front of the gun's grip) that you can push down with your...

Re: Holstering with a silencer
If you don't have a range bag that means you hand carry your ammo, extra magazines and oil? Nope, I've got a range bag and usually a .50cal can for extra ammo. Extra mags are on my belt, typically. If putting it back in a bag every time you want to put it down is the only solution then, so be it. I...

Re: Holstering with a silencer
Thanks for the replies. I'm not so much going for "tacticool" as I am trying to keep from setting the pistol on the ground in the middle of a field. I'm certainly not looking for an EDC solution (rabbit trail: remember the batman movie where The Joker pulls that giant barreled pistol out o...

Holstering with a silencer
Hi everyone. I finally broke down and bought an Osprey 9mm from Silencerco. I don't have it yet (ATF wait), but I've been thinking about how to use it on the range. I realized that the holsters I have for my primary host (Walther PPQ) probably won't accommodate the Osprey very well. The range we usu...
