Re: Drilling K cups and cones

2 bits should do it. The pilot, and the final size. Yes, make a wooden jig to slot them into the exact same place every time. Vise the jig to the Drillpress's table. Tighten the platform, do them all in series at the same time. If you have a HighSpeedSteel bit, you don't need the pilot. Just drill w...

Re: Suppressor Delimma

With the info that you've given, the results are illogical. The larger internal volume, and longer length after the "uncorking" at the muzzle, mean that something must be wrong with the larger can. They are both the same design? Maybe posting some pictures would help. Otherwise, this makes no sense....

Re: Suppressing 40SW 180gr 900fps

.40SW has MUCH more pressure than .45ACP. Therefore, you'll need something made for it. You'll need the tighter boreholes and more effective baffles, than what the .45 offers. You mention this will go on an AR upper. What barrel length? That will help others to reply. Basically, many people will use...

It's not a Model 17. Model 18 is the full auto version.
Contact the Glock company and ask them about buying a replacement.

I tried to "show" your photo, but it won't accept larger than 1600pixels height.

Re: 50 BMG QD mount

we need a wiki on how to post photos. upload to imgur.com https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imgur then post the link within the [img /img] brackets. Also, you mention that this will be a "scrap metal" can. The outer tube determines whether it can handle the pressure, is concentric, properly oriented wit...

Yes, be sure that the last cone seats just BELOW (flush with) the threaded area once it settles. Another option, would be to reduce OD and let it seat INSIDE of the endcap. Have you considered using a spring to allow the cones to all slide .50" FORWARD during the firing sequence? My parts for a "Sol...

can $200 really make a difference on taxes you owe? maybe i'm not getting the question You can also "depreciate" your Inventory if used as a part of your business. Only if you can count it as a "business expense" on your SchC. The Compliance Stamp "could" also be included to reduce your Net Earnings. But again, it would need to be a part of your Business for which you file Schedule C. --- It also depends upon HOW you bought it. -Addition of Assets for a Corpo...

Re: F1 30cal can

Place another cone against the far endcap.

There is no reason to have all of that deadspace in the low pressure zone. Also, no reason to not clip that last cone. The bullet will be long gone by the time that the gasses get to that point.

With all of the Corona Virus in China, expect prices on MANY things to wildly fluctuate in the coming weeks.

Either at point of Manufacture, or Transshipment Terminals. There will be many chokepoints in the Supply Chain. :(

Re: Cone Baffle Modification

For this design, there isn't any commonly used improvement.

If the skirt was pulled .25" in from the OD, then you could port the opposite side into the co-axial space. (Known as a "mouse hole.")

But this design doesn't offer this option. :?

Re: Which cones for 45 subsonic?

Have you tried any searching for what others use? Completed cans thread? Commercial Manufacturers? These are Bowers' 22 baffles. They are more complex than simple cones, and maybe provide a good middle ground: https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmodernrifleman.net%2Fwp-content...

Re: Which cones for 45 subsonic?

I've never built one, but from what I recall from other threads, start with cones, then the last couple could be Ks once the pressure drops so low that they need more advanced geometry to divert gas from the bore-axis.

As I understand, those "Chalenge coins" are designed to function as a "poor man's K" by placing them before the cups/cones that they sell.
Sounds like the worst of both worlds.

Lol no Why no? What function would you hope that they accomplish? The openings are too large to restrict flow from returning out of any chamber, yet any material blocks the initial gas sump. They don't have sufficient quenching qualities to add in cooling the combusting gasses. Converting Axial flo...

I made buffles as shown in my video. https://youtu.be/O-FHOPtOKp0 in fact, the gas flow rate on the turbine blades is close to subsonic because the silencer’s inside is a different gas environment than in the atmosphere and the speed of sound is different...
