Re: Help with 308 sub load
Really Hunter I've been wondering the same about other loads I use if they are even close to what I think they are. But I really want to get my rig as quiet as possible out to a 100-150yards without tumbling or keyholeing but I'd like to use load to hunt whitetail ethically so need to be sure they a...

Re: Help with 308 sub load
Thanks JohnDoe3 yeah I know I really need to just breakdown and buy one. It would be a smart investment. After all the money I've spent building my rig the last thing I wanna do is stick a bullet and booger up the lands in the barrel trying to beat out a bullet. That's why I've been weary about goin...

Help with 308 sub load
Hey fellas maybe y'all can give me some advice. I've been doing some load development. Using a Rem. 700 with a 1:8 twist Lilja barrel cut to 18". I've been loading lapua brass with 200gr lapua subsonic rounds, magnum primers and have gone all the way down to 8 grains of trail boss. Using a Sure...

Re: Are those portable 2000-4000 watt generators worth it?
We recently had a "cold snap" here in Wisconsin. Temps dipped to -25 with -50 wind chills and as if on queue, the fucking power went of for 5 hours! No problems in my house, but many in the neighborhood did. Both of my friends decided to get a propane fueled generators and ordered them fr...

Man I've got a Duro Max hybrid 4400ex it's a duel fuel so it runs off gasoline OR propane. And if you run propane the carburetor will never gum up. I love it. And at a price of about 540 or so if my memory serves me right. Well worth it. IMHO.

Re: What's your SHTF rifle and/or pistol?
My glock 19 since I don't leave home without it. And my Sig 556R side folder because it fits nicely in my overnight bag with work. But then again you'll always run into problems with justifying carrying a large caliber rifle and the bulk weight of your ammo and bob. But if I had to go it. That will ...

Re: Newbie
Local is north MS. My buddy knows a good one I'll call today midway is out of stock until the 22 so if I can find a better deal I can just cancel my order. But the gunsmith he uses you'll be close to a year before the work is done. And not a whole slew of choices around but I'll call around.

Re: Newbie
But it was AAC they are already proud of their products but was a 18 inch threaded with 1:8 twist. That's really not that far from anywhere else I've seen. By the time you get a blank or a finished barrel and have someone chop and thread it be close to that. Around here anyway.

Re: Newbie
Ok well I went I bought the barrel tonight on midway. Man they are proud of those suckers. ANSI talked to my buddy who bought one if the AAC barrels for his 300 blackout and he said that the barrels are made weird that you have to grind down the recoil lug with a surface grinder. Now he is my go to ...

Re: Newbie
Man thanks guys. Really appreciate the info. Will check out both sites out tonight and buy which ever has them. What type of distance are we talking realistically shooting subsonic? I've seen guys on you tube saying 350 yards but that's seem really extreme. I would love to get 200 maybe 250 is that ...

Re: Newbie
Oh and also barrel length and contour. It a sporter style barrel on it now. But didn't know if you guys could help direct me on contour. I like the heavy barrel look and if cut to 16 or 18 inches will I get accuracy from it being short.??
