Re: gemtec sandstormon 300 win. mag.
So wait, you're basically using a 308 load (same primer, powder charge and bullet) in your 300WM? If that's the case, then you should have slightly less muzzle pressure (larger case volume) than you would firing that from a 308. I'm working through the same issue on my .204 right now, Griffin is giv...

Re: Can I use a Griffin Optimus Micro on my .204?
I found a worksheet where you enter barrel length, bore, cartridge volume and chamber pressure and it kicks out a muzzle pressure. Is it accurate? Dunno. Not sure what measurement (.11) they're using for cartridge volume either. If it's accurate, 5.56 from a 14.5" barrel is a little over 9000 P...

Re: Can I use a Griffin Optimus Micro on my .204?
Griffin got back to me and gave me the safe answer, put a muzzle device on it...but...if I want to do direct thread it might damage the blast baffle and void my warranty. I'm gonna roll the dice, am I being dumb?

Can I use a Griffin Optimus Micro on my .204?
Going back and forth with Griffin on this, maybe I can get some more information here, science stuff. If you're not familiar with the Micro, it's a 22 can that can handle a mag dump of 5.56 or a slow diet up to 22-250 on the right barrel length. It has 2 mounting variations. Short, with a direct thr...

Bad video link, awesome little setup, can't wait to see the video you've got. Just need a holster and you can CCW that thing.

Cool running AR-15 handguard?
Starting to build my .458 Socom, and it'll need a handguard. Probably looking for something around 10", big enough inside to fit my D tube form 1 that I may or may not build someday, and I'd like it to stay pretty cool should I ever get around to building that can. Don't need a full length rail...

Re: subsonic 50 bmg
I think trailboss says you can use 70-100% case fill for any cartridge out there, and I hear it's quiet. Only problems I can see are: Can you find trailboss? Is the twist rate fast enough to stabilize that bullet at ~1000 fps?

Yeah, my smith basically does it as a hobby, and he's buried in work two to three weeks out, still has to maintain a full time job to cover the bills.

If they do, hopefully they'll sell the parts. They wouldn't sell me a threaded barrel, told me I had to buy they entire kit to get one (pistol included).

Re: Let's talk about suppressed ARs with really dirty FCGs
I removed all that guy's triggers from all my ARs, replaced the one in my Leonidas with the ALG ACT and wolff spring combo, and luckily had enough parts laying around to make two pretty OK mil triggers for my carbines. Had to steal from the SBR to make it happen, but since it doesn't have an upper, ...

Let's talk about suppressed ARs with really dirty FCGs
I was working up some loads for my Leonidas last weekend when my trigger started to malfunction. Wouldn't reset properly, I had to pull it back a bit then snap my finger off the side to get it to completely reset. It's a Springfield special, that guy in Colorado Springs, and it's the second trigger ...

I prefer CC, because frankly I prefer to be invisible. It's impossible due to my size and permanently affixed scowl, but the less people know about me, the better as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Fart Cans
I got no beef with things that are loud, as long as they're fast too. Got lots of respect for true tuner cars, muscle cars, anything you've got blood and sweat into. Sticking a fart can on a 100whp Accord just makes me want to pull my hair out though. Right after my OP, I discovered the clown down t...

Fart Cans
Not cans as in silencers, but cans as in mufflers. Every mook in my neighborhood has one on some automatic, econobox turd and thinks it's a racecar, drives me up the wall. Some of them are actually adults. As long as I'm complaining about slow, loud turds, I'm gonna throw in Harleys, diesels, and st...

Re: Subsonic
You might not know, but you can actually use a chronograph for things other than determining what rounds are subsonic in your gun. And who would shoot for 1070? I aim for 1000, then I don't have to worry about any of that hooha you're talking about. A chronograph can also be used more than once. In ...

Re: Subsonic
Yeah, it's not perfect but the real answer is buy a chrono. He has a silencer. If he's going to buy and shoot the ammo for testing he doesn't need a chrono, he can just listen for sonic crack. Ammo with no sonic crack was subsonic. :D Chrono is the way to go. With my reloads if I'm right ...

Re: Recommended Bike Tire to avoid flats?
He's in Colorado, it's goat heads. When I first moved here, made it about three blocks and had two flats and walked the bike home. I don't know much about the metric sizes, but for 26s I run a tube that's about 5x thicker than normal, and it's full of puncture sealing goop, so when one of them does ...
