Damn, more then 4 years even for a "custom" build that's beyond reasonable in any stretch of the imagination.

Re: Just got my Form 4's approved, sharing some info
Individual forms have been taking the <6 months and trusts right about 12 months so I'm guessing yours were both individual submissions which is been the normal wait time. Wow, what an AWESOME surprise ! Got 2 phone calls within the past week that my form 4 stamps got approved! I bought and initiate...

Re: 6.5 Grendel Subsonic Loads.
I run subsonic 90 and 110 gr subs in my 300 BLK Rem 700 and they are as quiet as can be. I've shot them single shot out of my AR and they are super quiet too but they don't budge the bolt at all. The amount of tuning (removed the recoil spring completely?) to get them to cycle would be insane. I'd a...

Re: 6.5 Grendel Subsonic Loads.
Trailboss isn't a good choice if he wants to try to get the weapon to cycle. It's why there are no 300 BLK loads using TB unless you want a SUPER quiet bolt action AR. I'm sure you could get close with a suppressor for extra back pressure, Trail Boss, heavy bullets, and some tuning. Let us know how ...

Re: Form 4 Trust wait time.
It's going to be a while before it gets back down to under 6 months I'd assume. For all the trust people that hate the changes were individuals that didn't want to do the trust route and couldn't get the LEO to sign off on their F1/4 that submitted forms post 41F. Just got my tax stamp yesterday for...

Re: Out of state travel with SBR
It might have been a "mistake" on her part but she COMPLETELY BROKE THE LAW like it or not since it is very clear that NJ does NOT have reciprocity with PA CCW permits. I live in PA and work in NJ so it was a 2 min google search that she didn't do to find out she couldn't carry in NJ. &quo...

Re: Out of state travel with SBR
FOPA is a federal law affecting everyone including states. Avoiding a city is one thing, trying to get to Maine from PA is physically impossible. http://s95.photobucket.com/user/mikecleonard/media/StateNFALawMap.png.html Police are human and don't know every single law but as a firearm owner it's go...

Re: Out of state travel with SBR
Incorrect. They made a "safe passage provision" to the Firearm Owners Protection Act (FOPA) that allows you to travel THROUGH a state that doesn't allow such weapons as long as the item you are transporting is legal in the state it originates and the state you are traveling to and it is tr...

Re: Do suppressors do the job?
I have a 300 BLK AR and Bolt gun and hands down the bolt gun is quieter. Not that the AR is uncomfortable but the action noise of the bolt being run on the bolt gun is as loud or louder then the gun shot. I'm going to assume you won't be taking more then 1 shot at a time so a bolt gun might be a goo...

Re: My 4 year battle with AAC to fix a defective suppressor...
Don't quote me but I have heard of guys removing SBR's from NFA status (turning the item back into a pistol) and informing the ATF and getting a refund of the tax stamp. Someone that has done this can chime in or possibly try contacting the ATF and see what can be done if you return it to AAC for th...

Re: RECOIL Reduction WHEN Suppressed
The muzzle brake test I sent you shows with a bare muzzle comparison vs the suppressor vs the brakes. The suppressor indeed reduced recoil over a bare muzzle but had the least amount of recoil reduction compared to all but one of the breaks. View the graphs in the link. It's worth the 2 minutes... h...

Re: RECOIL Reduction WHEN Suppressed
I have zero plans to shoot it on the 308. I have a AAC 51T brake rockset on the barrel and use my 762-SDN-6 on that rifle. Truth about guns has done some muzzle brake testing and did there test with one suppressor. Now it didn't have the break on the end of the suppressor but I highly doubt that it ...

Re: RECOIL Reduction WHEN Suppressed
I have an omega but haven't shot it on my 308 rifle yet just my 300 BLK with subsonic rounds so I can't speak to recoil reduction on a 308. I have however just recently picked up a 50 BMG suppressor with a break on the end of it that is removable. I've only shot with the break on but I can definitel...

Barrett QDL 50 BMG Suppressor
After a long 10.5 month wait for my Barrett QDL suppressor (long story but Eurooptic screwed me and didn't fill out the form 4 properly and caused an extra 5.5 month wait!) I finally got the Barrett QDL suppressor for my Barrett M99 50 BMG. I'm not new to suppressors but I'm never shot a 50 suppress...

Re: Vertical stringing when suppressed
My guess would be what curtistactical said. You didn't mention the range you were shooting at but I'm going to assume 100 yards. An ever so slight variance in powder (.1 grain or even less) behind a heavy projectile traveling at subsonic speeds can really make a difference at 100. 50 FPS variance wi...

Re: 9mm SBR 3-lug ur direct thread?
That's what I figure, it's probably a wash once it attached to the host. the GA is the shortest option but then I'm not a fan how close it puts the muzzle to the blast baffle on the silencerco cans since they weren't designed for the internal tri lug like the GA cans are. The Omega 9K could probably...

Re: 9mm SBR 3-lug ur direct thread?
I pose this question. The omega 9k with the tri lug mount vs DT mount the tri lug would be longer sitting on a table. Now mount it to the weapon using both options. Is one really longer or that much longer then the other? The tri lug sits more over the barrel so I would bet they are just about the s...

Re: 9mm SBR 3-lug ur direct thread?
Muzzle devices are typically fixed to the barrel via a locking compound (locktite, rockset, etc.) while suppressors are not so they can be removed and placed on another host weapon easily. At some point, everything is direct thread to the barrel, so what is the issue with direct thread suppressors? ...

Re: 9mm SBR 3-lug ur direct thread?
I don't find the direct thread cans coming lose like some others have mentioned on fixed barrels. I don't run hundreds of rounds through it without checking though. Out of curiosity why not just run it with the 3 lug since you already have the 3 lug mount?
