Re: Uzi end cap?

I got one from Gemtech. It was for their multi mount but I used it with my Thompson machine Isis. It worked great and looked way better than threading the barrel.

Re: How much hassle is a SBR?

It's not too much of a hassle. You have to fill out and get approved a 5320.20 for crossing state lines. You can have them dated for 365 days. I only take mine out of state once a year, but say you love in one state and shoot in another, you can submit a form with dates of Jan 1-Dec 31 and be good. ...

Glad things are starting up again! I know how it feels about paying someone to do something I can do! It has caused me a b ch of work, but saved a bunch of money!!

Re: Any place to trade in a used can?

I'm curious what kind of cans guys are looking at giving up? I understand there is much better technology in suppression than just a few short years ago, but I could find a use for even the crappiest can! If it were truly a worthless performing can, it'd be cooler to cut it in half lengthways for di...

Re: .22 Conversion issues

Yep, big improvement over the old one! I thought about silver soldering a hunk of steel to the old on and filing out a feed ramp, but figured it was worth the money (and hassle) of getting one from JAC(ass). If you can get them on the phone, it'd be better as you could be sure you have the current p...

Re: I finally finished my form1 can

I have a quick question about machining come baffles with integral spacers. Is there any positive or negatives to making the spacer before or after the baffle? In my limited lathe skills, it seems easier to machine the spacer after the baffle vs the 'M' style where it is before and surrounds the con...

As far as working on them, I doubt you'll have much luck. But your best bet is to contact the guys at Black Dog, they sell spare parts for the conversions and mya be able to help you out.

Re: .22 Conversion issues

My conversion kit came with that same chamber insert. It leaded horribly and would not feed from Black Dog mags. I found out that I had an older style insert and the newer one had a feed ramp. The new one looks like this: http://i33.tinypic.com/semxe1.jpg You can read what I dealt with in getting a ...

Re: What is the minimum OD possible for a .357 Integral Suppressor?

I'm in IN, and we are only slightly past where OH is, apparently. Our legal deer calibers are determined by case dimensions, not Muzzle Energy. I forget the exact dimensions, but its minimum .57 bore and basically what the .357 mag case length is up to what the .460 S&W is; 1.80" I believe. No strai...

C&R to NFA question

it looks like Indiana is going to allow SBS's in the near future. I have a C&R and am thinking of buying an older Ithaca 37 to chop down. I would be efileing a Form1 with my trust. My question is one of paperwork. Would I need to log the shotgun out to my trust from my C&R? Just curious if anyone ha...

'Mini' 5.56 F1 thoughts

After finishing up my 300 blk can, I'm thinking about building another one. This one would be 5.56, direct thread, welded, 60 degree cones. It would probably my split its time between a couple of 16" carbines and the 11" upper I have as a second for my 300 SBR. I've got some 1.5" stainless tubing, 3...

Re: Handgun and 300blk out suppressor

A little general and then specific advice... General advice is that cans are basically a lifetime purchase. Practically nobody buy/sells used cans. That being said, find what you want and if it takes six months or a year more of saving, do it! I bought an SAS stainless .30 cal can. It's solid as can...

I asked Tim abiout my .30 cal can and he told me I coulod shoot anything .30 cal or smaller through it. He said magnums were no porblem. I shoot mine in my 300 BLK and .308 and its a great can.

Re: A little advice on this design please.

I finally finished up my 300 can yesterday. I went with two cones and three K's. First cone was a 30*, then a 60*. I used an SDTA 6" Ti tube and 316 stainless internals. It ended up weighing in at 21 ounces. It will live in my 8.5" 300 Blk SBR 90% of the time. I could have probably made it a bit lig...

Re: Should I build with a Hobby Lathe, Form Freeze Plugs, or Buy?

I'll throw in my newbie two cents here... I love making things myself. I've wanted a Lathe and a Mill for several years. No real place to put them. I ended up buying a 9x19" Atlas made int eh 30's last fall. Its not very big, but does a good job for me. At Christmas I got a quick change tool post an...

Sterling!

After nearly a year, my paperwork finally went through and I was able to pick up my Sterling earlier this week. I shot it at an indoor range the next night and its super smooth! Shot five rounds on semi at ten yards and made a nice tight group. My buddy said, "I bet you cant do that on Full Auto" so...

Re: After corrections are made to form 4, how long after till stamp comes?

I was able to go pick up my new Sterling last night. The F4 came back 12-23 for corrections, mine being that the Model didn't match the registry. I took pictures of the reciever and mailed them along with my F4 and a copy of the previous owners approved F4 with all of the info matching back. To the ...

Re: fa or burst opinions and reasons...

My AC556 has semi, burst, and full auto settings. It has the ratchet system so if you are off the trigger quick enough for two rounds, you only get one shot the next pull. I use it for FA beginners and with the .22 kit. It's pretty easy to get two shots in full auto so that's how I normally have it ...

Re: What about living on a sailboat with Nfa items?

mmm, doesn't work that way. you opine that if it isn't legal to own Title 2 by an individual or in a certain location, one could use a trust as a cloaking device to circumvent the legally prohibited provisions of the law. you have a skewed way of viewing law vs trust Not at all how I meant it. I ju...

Re: What about living on a sailboat with Nfa items?

I'm definitely not an expert, but I would think that a trust with someone else having a more 'standard' address would be an easy way to do it. A trusted friend or relative could be a trustee and thus could have their address as the trusts address and then both of you could legally posess the class I...

Re: A little advice on this design please.

Not to hijack, but since we are talking K baffle variants now... Would it be of any benefit to cut an angle into the rear 'cone'. I was told that it's not good to have too much of a straight bore for the gasses to flow through, so I was wondering if using a boring bar to create basically a small 60 ...

Re: Who Says A Pistol Cannot Be Suppressed

I've always been curious about suppressing a 'normal' revolver. Everyone says the barrel cylinder gap will mess it up, but has anyone done it and gotten hard numbers on it? I'm just curious how much noise would escape. It would definitely depend on the revolver, too. A nice tight Freedom Arms has mu...

Still waiting on mine...

I'm assuming since mine requires changing the registry, it will take a little longer. I really want this subgun, though!!
