Re: Looking to Buy a Crossbow
Nice crossbow! I thought all crossbow triggers were "wonkey," but I guess that's because none of them have a Geissele.

Re: ATF continued.......
How long is an efile Form 1 taking these days? I filed one in the middle of May 2015 for an SBR, and I'm wondering how long the wait has been for others. For that matter has anyone got a paper Form 1 or Form 4 back recently? How long are paper forms taking these days? Just curious. [UPDATE] I found ...

Re: Numbers for Guardian 9 by Huntertown Arms
I ended up buying the TiRant 45. I am very happy with it. Stamp took 6 months and 2 days. I was happy about that too considering it had been taking 10 months when I filed the form 4. Thanks for everyone's advice ... I'm sure I wouldn't have been as happy with the Huntertown arms can.

Re: .223 can size?
I like the looks of this! Would it preform better with clipped cones? Or would that just kill any accuracy that I would be hoping to keep? And yes I am dropping the monocore idea for now. Maybe I'll pick it back up in the future. Ben I am building a similar can (cones), and I'm wondering about accu...

Re: Does number of baffles affect accuracy?
Most suppressors cause a turbulent condition for the gases. The higher the velocity of the gas the more turbulence is created and the quieter the suppressor can be.I find 4 to 5 asymmetric baffles is enough for service loads while 7 to 10 are needed in subsonic calibers. The number of baffles has no ...

Does number of baffles affect accuracy?
I want to build a 9" 30cal can out of SS with smooth cones. If I keep the blast chamber around 1 to 1.25" and evenly space the cones, I'm coming up with 10 cones and spacers. I have read here that high power loads are better suppressed with a few baffles and subsonic rounds are better supp...

Re: Anyone with results of recent paper forms???
Yes, see my post above I sent one in right around the same time and got it back just a few days after whispershot. Turnarounds do appear to be improving. Awesome! Anyone else? I have a Form 4 i mailed middle of June 2014, so I'm hoping the return times for paper forms are going to keep getting shor...

Re: Form 1 can compatibility with my TiRant 45
I would look into the legal side of things before you worry about the mechanical side of things. Legal side has issues. By legal, do you mean that it may not be legal to swap silencer parts between cans, or are you talking about patent infringement? I don't want to violate either of course; I'm jus...

Form 1 can compatibility with my TiRant 45
Please forgive me if the answer to my question is out there on the net somewhere. I've Googled with no luck. My Form 1's are back (FINALLY) for a 30 cal can and a 45 cal can. I want to build these cans with SS for use on rifles with both supers and subs. I want to build the rear caps so that I can u...

Re: Numbers for Guardian 9 by Huntertown Arms
LOL. Yeah, really good point!Give it a shot.
It's only a $200 tax and a year's wait.
If it sucks, it's only another $200 and another year to get something good.

Numbers for Guardian 9 by Huntertown Arms
I can't seem to find anyone on the web who's metered the Guardian 9 with a 9mm host and/or a 300 Blackout host. Does anyone know of anyone who's metered this can? The can is really inexpensive. It uses K baffles, so I would expect it to perform well.

Re: Help me decide: Octane or Osprey
I'm with Emilio, but we all have different reasons for buying a particular can. Both cans weigh about the same, about the same suppression, about the same length, etc. I would choose Octane because it may be a little easier to clean and maintain, and I just prefer the round tube to the rectangular l...

Re: Does anyone have ideas for radical designs?
Would a suppressor shaped like a cone be more effective? For example the tube is smaller at the end that connects to the gun barrel and larger at the end where the bullet exits the suppressor. Don't laugh, but something like the homemade suppressor on the kid's gun in "The Walking Dead" TV...

ETA: Went to the local Cabela's and talked to a person in their archery shop. Needless to say, Barnett is off my list, of all the brands that they sell, Barnett was the most returned for repair. Re: K baffle, 9mm direct thread can.
Why don't you get an SOT? Instead of (9) $200 Stamps, you could pay every 3 yrs (or whatever) instead of making piecemeal. Plus, you get plenty of experience while only charging 200% markup over expenses, to cover machine and tool wear. Sounds like a reasonable tradeoff, unless you just hate the ex...
