Re: 9mm "K" Configuration Cans

Honestly, unless you really need the gun to fit into someplace small I'd probably get a standard length can if suppression is of any concern. Even with a full length can pistols are already the shortest firearm you can handle in a house or space limited situation. Its been a while since I looked at ...

Re: Sticking cases when shooting suppressed?

Only time I've had issues like this is when my Case OAL is longer than spec. I know it doesn't jibe with your results with factory ammo, but I'd measure the OAL of the cases to be sure. Who knows, the factory rounds you used might be longer than spec as well. You might have a tight throat, or your r...

I wouldn't. 5.7 is a pretty high pressure round, much more than any pistol cartridge. Probably would damage the Tirant's aluminum baffles.

Re: hey everyone , who has tirant 9

I got one 3 years ago and I like it, granted it is my 1st of 2 pistol cans (2nd is a Octane 45). Its user serviceable but only the blast baffle is stainless (all the others are anodized aluminium) so not recommended if to shoot lead or 22lr through it. The time it would take to clean the lead off of...

It may have held up, but I wouldn't call it well. The Baffles are probably trashed and that fire is coming from something in there. Granted, that was a pretty abusive test.

Re: Centerfire suppressors strictly for big game hunting applications

What calibre are you using? There are several nice 338 cans that are designed for the 338 Lapua. In the past few years people have made some nice 44-50 calibre cans that can take stuff up to a 45-70 government, but not sure how they would handle a H&H or nitro express round. Silencerco makes the hyb...

Re: Thunderbeast Ultra 9

Is this can going on a bolt gun or semi-auto? I'd personally not put an all titanium can on a semi-auto because titanium can't take the rapid heat build up that a semi-auto can produce. Plus, there is so much noise coming out of the ejection port of a semi-auto that you probably couldn't tell the di...

The rifle will be clanging steel 75% of the time, but I do have some armadillo problems at the range and coyotes in the cow pasture. So it will not be used for taking large game just plinking and general pest control. Sorry man, I missed the part where you said it would be a Ruger American. I keyed...

Re: 300 blackout build

Saying there isn't any gains past 9" is pure BS. I have chronographed about 150 fps difference between my 9" pistol and 14.5" rifle shooting the same handloads. The manufactures claim that longer than 16" you start to get diminishing returns. Considering most of the light weight 308 bullets don't re...

[quote="NickAAC.308 subsonic is dumb in general, but really dumb through a pistol silencer.[/quote] I disagree Nick I wouldn't call it dumb. Sure, most 308 bolt guns don't have a fast enough twist rate to take advantage of the heavy weight 308 bullets like most 300 blk guns can. However, if you're o...

Re: TBAC 30P-1 on a Socom II

Springfield M1A variant right? I would say it is not recommended because semi-autos can heat titanium cans up to fast and damage them. The baffles will literally erode and eject little sparks of titanium out the can's muzzle if you get them too hot too fast. You would have to be really careful maint...

I think you'll be happy with them. I have several of their 51T rifle cans and a Tirant 9 and am happy with each. Find out if the Tirant 45M has aluminium baffles. If it does, then I don't recommend shooting lead bullets through it due to the difficult of cleaning aluminium baffles. I haven't seen an...

Wonder if it is user serviceable. Would be nice to shoot a 44 mag lever action with cast lead. I agree, too bad it's not. I still want one though. Do you have a threaded 44 mag lever gun now? I don't, but my folks have a 44 Mag Marlin and that would make a great suppressed big bore hunting rifle.

I think Silencerco is moving away from the Trifecta MAAD mounts because I've heard from several people of the mounts loosening and launch the can downrange. People have had other issues like the cans sticking to their mounts after a lot of fast, hard firing then allowed to cool to ambient temperatur...

Well whatever you read about that is pure hogwash. The Omega is the most versatile can out there. Its durable, full auto & magnum rated. It comes with an ASR mount and direct thread mount. Other thread pitches are available. Its light, its short, & its built by an excellent company that has a long ...

Re: FNG here with another new gu question on cans.. looking to sshoot corrosive 5.45 7n6

I would avoid titanium for a semi-auto carbine that you will run hard to moderate like a AK74 or 16" AR Carbine. Titanium is strong, but it degrades really fast when it gets hot. You can get away with a titanium tube made with conventional baffle materials (i.e. AAC Tirant and Silencerco Omega) for ...

Re: 300 blk vs .308

My thoughts exactly. Except for the last sentence. Have both! Then you won't need 556 whatsoever. Having both would be nice (I do) because anything suppressed in a bolt action is awesome. A 16" 300 blk bolt gun is a light, handy little gun to carry plus subs sound like an air rifle through it suppr...

Re: omega vs thunderbeast vs other options

The Thunder Beast should provide better suppression and is a better made can. The Omega is a jack of all trades suppressor really best on carbines and smaller calibres than 300 Win mag. Even with the 30" barrel, that 300 mag has to put a lot of heat and pressure on that Omega. The Thunder Beast will...

Re: 300 blk vs .308

Go for the 308 and forget about shooting subs at 300m, it would just be too frustrating. 300 blk subs should only be used within 100 yds. The bullet drop is just way too excessive after that. My 300 blackouts sighted in at 100 yds have 100 inches of bullet drop at 300 yds shooting my 220 grain subs....

300blk AR Supers hearing safe at ear?

Has anyone tested to see if 300 blk supers are hearing safe at the shooter's ear on an AR? I assume they weren't since every test I've seen for 556s show them not to be. However, I reload and realize that 110-130 grain 300 blk suppers only load between 18-20 grains of powder. Most 556 55-62 grain lo...

Guys, I have a SDN-6 which does double duty on my built Mega 16" AR308 and 300 blk upper. Without the can the 308 isn't that bad to carry, but with the extra 1.5 lbs out front it probably would be a pain for an extended time and very hard to shoot offhand. Re: Recommend me a K length pistol suppressor.

I think I still would get the Revolution can even though you already have two full sized cans in 9 & 45. It's just too much flexibility to give up. Plus, you would have a can by another manufacturer which is always a good thing. You might decided you like the Revolution more and use it in both confi...
