Re: 9mm subgun suppressors - what's good these days?

how about a 2016 update? Does anyone know how subgun or standard pistol suppressors sound on the Masterpiece Arms Defender, Mech Tech Conversion, or TNW Aero Survival Rifles/Pistols? My SilencerCo Octane 45HD sounds pretty good on my TNW Aero SBR in 9mm 147gr. Same sounds as the same as the Colt 9m...

Re: 22lr ar or m&p 15-22

I have both and prefer my dedicated S&W 15-22 SBR. The plastic 15-22 keeps it lightweight, the hand guard was cut down, and the tucked Spectre II suppressor on the 4.5" barrel keeps high velocity ammo sub-sonic. The 15-22 just plain works reliably and has the best .22lr magazine for ARs. Ev...

Re: Omega 9K

Uses Octane mounts, 4.7" can, 1.5" diameter, little under 7 ounces, and should be around 125dB with subsonic 9. Good for 9mm and 300 blackout. So it's shorter, fatter, lighter, and quieter than the Octane 45K? (Muzzle Average dB: 135.8 (9mm) 136.3 (.40 S&W) 139.8 (.45 ACP). Weight: 9....

Re: Surefire Muzzle Brake Diverter

Shot my Warden last weekend on a Mk18 10.3". Night and day difference! The only time I'll run that gun without the Warden on it is when I'm running a can on it. It makes it fun to shoot with no concussion, and no gas in the face. Totally worth it.

Happy for you but annoyed. I ordered mine 5/4/15 directly from SF (waiting since when they were announced right before SHOT) and BCM got the first run. Still waiting.

Re: In the market for a new 556 suppressor, any suggestions?

For rifles and QD (quick detach) cans, you are buying into a system and their muzzle brake(s).

I went with the Surefire SOCOM 7.62. My thinking was good muzzle brakes, good QD system, can shoot on .308, .243, .223, and .300Blk, plus it is rated for shorter barrels.
Minimal POI shift.

Re: New to the site, New to NFA items

More free advice... You already got your trust, good! SBRs (Short Barreled Rifles) and silencers go hand in hand. If you are gonna add a silencer to the end of your barrel which adds length and weight, why not shorten the barrel which could make it stiffer and lighter? A shorter barrel and a "c...

I love my G2 Recon. Went with the MI lightweight keymod and adjustable gas block to get it ready for the can. Oh and PRI now makes a GasBuster charging handle for the G2.

Re: Choosing a 22lr pistol for suppressor

I have the Ruger+Volquartsen 22/45 Lite, S&W M&P 22 Compact, a Glock 27 with a Advantage Arms .22lr conversion, and a .22lr AR15 pistol I built with spare parts. They are all fun to run suppressed. Can't beat the 22/45 for a dedicated .22 suppressed host. The M&P Compact is a good traine...

Re: Using a Surefire SOCOM 7.62 Can on a 5.56?

Love what este said!

I'm running a SOCOM762RC on my 556, 300blk, and 762 all using SF breaks. Thinking about adding the 762MINI instead of getting a dedicated 556 can too.

Re: Suggest a .30 suppressor.

I'm not a sales person for SureFire, but I went with their SOCOM762-RC can when faced with the same decision. QD muzzle brakes or flash hiders mounts, and the 762 can also be used on 5.56 and 300 BLK mounts (and other calibers less than .30 cal). Also rated up to 300 WM. It can not be taken apart, a...

Agreed. But I feel a collection should have the following as a minimum:
At least 1 .22LR rifle
At least 1 shotgun - 12ga
At least 1 handgun - 9mm etc
At least 1 longer range rifle - 5.56, 7.62, etc

Re: What guns do you own, and why?

I like having multiple guns that can shoot the same caliber. I like tried and true gun platforms that I can find parts and magazines for, cheaply. I like popular calibers that I can find at walmart and surplus ammo for cheap. I like higher end guns/tools, buy once cry once. I've only ever sold 2 gun...

Re: Help me pick my first suppressor

Octane 45 HD and you "could" still shoot .22LR, 9mm, .40, and .45 in it. 3 lug mount.

Then all you'd need is a dedicated 7.62 can that you can shoot 5.56 and .300BLK in also.

Eventually you'll want a separate .22LR can
