Re: Backpressure Problem in a Semi-Auto Rifle?

Thank you for the confirmation, guys. Now that I know what the issue is, I think there are ways to deal with it. Part of the issue was trying to separate any rifle-specific issues with any additional things I need to take into consideration when using a suppressor. At first I wasn't sure if I had a ...

Re: Why not more threaded barrel makers?

I would sooo buy an Osprey if I could only find a threaded barrel for my XD-9, or my CZ75B, or even my Hi-Power.

Backpressure Problem in a Semi-Auto Rifle?

I finally got my first suppressors out of ATF jail back in early December. I got a Silencerco Spectre II and a SpecWar 762 and I've been really been enjoying them. I bought the SpecWar 762 to use on 3 rifles. AR-15 in 5.56mm (DI action) Savage bolt rifle in .308 (not threaded yet) Ruger SR-762 (pist...

Re: Looking to Buy a Crossbow

I was looking for an Xbow in the same price range a few years ago. I read too many stories about needing to restring many of them after only a 100 or so shots so I decided save a little more and buy a recurve that I can change the string on myself. I ended up buying an Excalibur Axiom and have been ...

I used to shoot out at Durham Wildlife Club and the Wake Co. Range.
Now I mainly shoot at SSI in Louisburg. I sometimes go to the range in Ramseur to shoot out to 500.

Re: Preventing baffle strikes

I use a home made alignment rod made from tool steel. Super easy to make. $3 for most calibers is adequate. Photos and specs here: http://nfatalk.org/forum/showthread.php?t=10177 It's already saved one can from destruction. A sliver of steel in the threads is all it takes to misalign the can. I use...

Re: Preventing baffle strikes

Everyone, thank you for your responses. Hopefully I will be able to find any issues, especially on this old rifle, before they happen.

Conqueror, it looks like you are probably right down the road from me. I work in RTP and live in Apex.

Preventing baffle strikes

Hey guys. Back in May I placed an order for a Spectre2 and a SpecWar 762 on which I plan to use with several different hosts. I would like to use the SpecWar on my Ruger SR-762 (factory threaded muzzle), my Savage bolt action (still need to get the barrel threaded professionally), and a Spanish FR-8...

Re: Osprey45 on glock 19 with TLR1 light?

I was looking at the Osprey in 9mm awhile back. With it's offset design it looks like the only obstruction would be the "bottom" portion. I was wondering if there is any reason why the Osprey could not be indexed such that the "low" or "bottom" part is pointing out to the side. Or is there simply st...

Re: Question re. Nagant revolver to compare Osprey9 & Osprey

Thanks.
In the end I decided to go with the Spectre2 and the Specwar762.
This will mean allow lots of fun .22lr shooting from pistol and rifle and a more pleasant experience for my son when shoot .223 (and I'll get the benefits when shooting .308).

Re: Question re. Nagant revolver to compare Osprey9 & Osprey

It appears that this video answers my first question. Not necessarily the "why" part but the results are interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0cMuEpVOuQ Unsuppressed for Calibration: .45 230gr : 162.33 db .40 180gr: 161.24 db 9mm 147gr: 159.98 db Osprey45 (dry): .45 230gr: 133.51 .40 180gr:...

Question re. Nagant revolver to compare Osprey9 & Osprey45

First post here. I've been lurking for a week or so researching my first purchase. I've pretty much settled on a Spectre2 for 22lr and an Osprey can for my 9mm (XD9 & CZ75b) and possibly for my .45 (1911). <Cringe> <Wince> Here it comes... the old bitch of a question that just...won't... die. :-) I ...
