Re: "No Machining Required" Form 1 Build?
A FP can doesn't require a drill press , but one would be nice . I think about all of them offer centering tools that are useable to center the holes in the freeze plugs ( baffles ) with a 1/8 bit and then you progressively expand them from there . Which can be done fine with a hand drill and set of...

Not buying into the meme . Unless and until a receipt for seized property is shown , or a press release from batfe on how they are protecting us from the menace of legal gun cleaning items it simply is more internet bs .

Re: Heat treating freeze plugs
You can't heat treat freeze plugs . There is simply not enough carbon in them for that to work . About all you can do is burn the zink coating off and give yourself a fine headache if you get in the fumes .

Re: Questions from an inexperienced Form 1 builder.
Something to consider .. the SDTA muzzle brake/endcap combo has no retention device to keep the can tight . IIRC he does sell endcaps for yankee hill and possibly another manufacturer that have retention schemes built in to keep the can tight on the rifle .

Re: Apparently DORMAN has changed their 555-104 freeze plugs
Out of curiosity .... Just what did dorman change ? Is it the id or the od on them ( i am assuming its the id since the widget wont work but i was wondering if the " new " plugs are too large or too small for the centering tool to work ) I wouldn't be using this method personally , but for...

Re: WTF has gone wrong with my can?
Ill vote with Bendersquint as a most likely issue , crud on the shoulderof the barrel or suppressor mount . The other thing that comes to mind ( and it could be wrong as i have no experience with that can ) would be basically the same issue with the can endcap(s) allowing the baffle to shift a bit p...

I see an immediate entire house redecorate in your future then ... Just saying that most wives wont let something like this go unchallenged and its a fight you just can't win LOL .And no, the wife does not know that I am turning the garage into a man-cave.

Re: Under NFA rules, is a garage considered a "silencer"?
The garage is not attached to the firearm , thus would not be a silencer ( yet anyway lol ).
Edited to add ..
For Gawds sake don"t write any letters asking BATFE though

That presumes we can keep the feds off the hemp seed shipments long enough to get them planted lol. I too voted to go legal with it , but am pretty disgusted with the tax structure they came up with . It quite simply subsidies the " illegal " street market by driving the cost of legal weed...

And ATF feeds on busting homebrewed stuff. Its easier to just buy one that works. Why do you say the ATF does that ? In reading here I sure haven't gotten the impression that ATF goes out of its way to hassle form 1 builders . Full disclosure .. I am about to file a couple of form 1s myself because...
