Re: How much more can I expect from this? (300 BO)

As for dB meters, yeah, not all that great. My SPL meter gives me about 128dB from a 4" barrel with CCI SV. 22lr. Between about 103dB and 107dB with a K baffle can depending on the environment where I'm measuring. Obviously neither is correct, but useful for comparison to other things. Some wh...

Re: Homebuilt 9mm suppressor and bolt action carbine.

Found this build when searching to see if anyone had done this yet. Looks great. I was considering doing a single locking lug that is part of the bolt handle, and cross drill the bolt and have the bolt handle slip in and be retained with a cross pin that itself is retained by the pressure of the rec...

Re: What causes a deeper tone in a F1 can?

The deepest tone F1 build I ever heard was a .22lr made from sch 80 pvc pipe and coated with plastidip. I had thoughts of plastidipping my steel 9mm build, but the smell and mess when it heats up would be awful.

That brass piece at the end appears to be a transmission bushing from a jeep (gpw) transmission. That spiral groove is an oil groove.

That looks like one of the food traps out of my dishwasher drain. I wonder if the secret is that he packs it with bits of old vegetables and swollen soup noodles. "Never been done before".

Re: A question about freeze plugs

I heard a flat freeze plug can and a cone freeze plug can of about the same size and the cone was better to my ears. I'm not sure how the internals were laid out in either one though since they weren't mine. The cones usually should end up about flush with the bottom of the freeze plug cup. You want...

Looking for comments/criticism on my baffle spacing and blast chamber size

This is my multi use 300 Blackout/9mm carbine/7.62x39/5.56 build. ID on the outer tube is 1.350". The baffles are 60 degree freeze plug cones, clipped on one side. The blast baffle is different and is pictured below. Bore size is .412". This is all going in a steel SDTA solvent trap tube w...

Re: First ATF Ruling of 2015......applies to everyone in this forum!

Just the way they worded this with the "make a firearm more suitable for use" language makes me wonder if some bonehead wasn't out there having customers finish their 80% lowers to just barely above the 80% threshold and then having them drop the "firearm" off to be fully complet...

Re: Now available DIY felony kit

I'm almost tempted to file a form 1, get it approved, then be all over that web site buying all sorts of crap. When the ATF comes a' knocking - or when they blow your door off its frame and shoot your dog - and they find your mag-lite silencer, and get that "Oh we got you now sucker" look...
