Re: 45 cal QD options?

Oh ok. These are ATF documents provided to manufacturers asking for a specific ruling/opinion on the part. Gotcha. Oh well, anything I have made will be local with my form1 in hand I guess.

Re: 45 cal QD options?

Ok, but there has to be some other spec other than "ACME". When I ask a shop if they can do it, what is the pitch and spacing? Also, not to get too far off topic, I understand the bit about making suppressor parts (all NFA rules being followed here etc) however this is the same as this par...

Re: 45 cal QD options?

Thanks for the info. This can will be used only on the UMP. I only have one other 45 and that is an FNX 45 tact that I run an Osprey on. The UMP barrel has .578x28 on it so I could put the Osprey on it if I wanted but don't plan on doing so. I have been considering just direct mounting the suppresso...

45 cal QD options?

I am going to be building a form 1 can for a UMP 45 clone and am not finding a lot in the way of 45 QD muzzle devices. I am thinking of going with this one; http://www.primaryarms.com/yhm-9923-24a/p/yhm-9923-24a/ Does anyone know what threads are on the outside of this? Any other options out there? ...

First Form1 Cans Completed!

After approx 4 months I had 2 form 1 suppressors approved. One is a 9mm to be used on my M10, MP5k Reverse Stretch and 9mm AR. The other is specifically for my AKs. Both have been test fired and work great! The 9mm suppressor is about the same size as my XXXXXX 9mm can but a little shorter. It is as...

Re: Form 1 modular design

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I will just forget the modular design. I will probably just go ahead and get 3 more form 1s started. probably only build 1 or 2 once approved and have the option for the 3rd, larger one later.

Form 1 modular design

I should be getting close to receiving 2 forms 1 can approvals and want to get a couple more in before the change in the trust takes effect. So, I am considering a .45 can but would like to be able to have a short and longer one. I have done a few searches but can't seem to find a definitive answer ...

Re: Specs to handle a 308 8" barrel?

Thanks guys. Nope, not interested in a 300 blackout. The SBR will be a 308 and likely a G3 8" barrel. So the question now is recommendations on materials to build a suppressor that would stand up to it. Probably the most desirable feature (other than the tube material being robust enough) will ...

Specs to handle a 308 8" barrel?

I was going to post this in the smithing forum but decided it may be more appropriate here; I am going to be building a 308, 8" SBR and am thinking of making my first suppressor. I know it will be heavy in order to handle the power, but am ok with that. I was hoping my 7.62-SDN-6 would work (I ...

Thanks for the call and clarification Brent. I fully respect your right and decision to not repair the sleeve due to your safety and quality concerns. Apology accepted.

Have a good one.

Re: Suppressor repair.. Feel like I am getting the runaround

EDIT UPDATE: First, thanks for taking the time to speak to me on the phone just now Brent and thanks for removing the picture showing my serial number! So it seems the situation has changed since I spoke to them yesterday. They are now waiting for clarification from the ATF on whether or not they ca...

Re: Suppressor repair.. Feel like I am getting the runaround

Thanks for the clarification Brent. This whole issue could have been avoided if the info you decided to post here would have been provided to me in the first place instead of the following; "He somehow failed to reassemble the booster and shot it with like 1 thread holding the booster retaining...

Re: Suppressor repair.. Feel like I am getting the runaround

Just to clarify, I have not advised anyone to stay away from this business. The reason for my post was to get input on the correctness of what I was being told. I found out it was not. Like I indicated, this all stemmed from one employee and when I was able to speak to another one, the issue was res...

Re: Suppressor repair.. Feel like I am getting the runaround

Seems fine. I even checked with an alignment rod and it showed it was fine. Update: After having gone through a different employee that actually listened to what I was saying, the issue is being resolved to my satisfaction. I probably won't go with this brand again as I would dread having to deal wi...

Suppressor repair.. Feel like I am getting the runaround

Ok, I will try to keep it short, to the point without any (much) opinion. - I have a Liberty Mystic. 2nd time on my Walther PPX I have a baffle strike. First shot was fine, on the 2nd shot the can went flying and the booster was in two pieces. It was like it was unscrewed at the threads. - Sent the ...
