Re: Drilling Mouse Holes
Hi, Jigs, yea !, a good jig is the key for a successful home-shop K-Baffle (ie. Drill Press or Hand Drill). And, guessing loud, i'll add: Use a 3D Printer to build the jig and you can have access to angled ports (same as CMV Operation 1 & 2 but with some angles). If you don't have a 3D Printer a...

Re: 3D Printed MonoCore - I (Pics heavy !)
For this project, i used 0.25 layers to speed up printing. I can go 0.075 and even 0.05 easy but lot slower. The new printers are much powerfull.

Re: 3D Printed MonoCore - I (Pics heavy !)
So, it's mostly done now. I tested the Can sing a threaded adapter Ruger and works perfect. I had to go to 6.75 mm bore size (0.2657 inches) to archive concentric path and skip baffle strikes. Considering i'm using 3 Adapters from the Barrel to the Core, i modestly think it's a great success. I did ...

Re: 3D Printed MonoCore - I (Pics heavy !)
No, no issue at all with threads. I have had delamination issues in other parts due to high friction (ie. gears and rotational junctions). There is a simple test to figure out whats wrong: Thin paint crests and roots using a solvent containing Methylene Chloride (don't use acetone). Wet a sponge and...

Re: 3D Printed MonoCore - I (Pics heavy !)
Hi, Caps are printed and fit nicely. Rear Cap is threaded to support adapters using a acme-like pitch. One adapter (shown in the Pic) is for a 10/22 without threaded Barrel and another one is printing now for a Pistol (1/2 - 28). I think taping in this tough composite is going to be a mess. Also wor...

Re: 3D Printed MonoCore - I (Pics heavy !)
I'm not in USA so no issues at all with BATF. The "plastic" shown in the Pics is a mix of Polycarbonate and ABS. It's stronger than ABS, easy to Print but still far from Nylon composites and, of course, very far from Celazole. I've got new Hot Ends and Power supplies so i'll be testing str...

Re: patent question/discussion
Hi, OK, so why don't you start a thematic thread for new Designs and Ideas ?, like the Completed Builds one or the Baffles Pics one but for new stuff. I don't think the USA restrictive laws in regards to Suppressors should be an issue since Designs & Ideas are not subject to any Law. In order to...

Re: patent question/discussion
I'm not sitting on any ground breaking designs.... as far as I know at this point, I was just thinking that there tends to be very little in the way of "new" ideas being kicked around in the daylight here. Just thought if posting a design publicly was a legitimate way of staking an...

Re: K buffer vs REGULAR freeze plug (.22lr)
+1 to Fulmen comments. Let me add some minor comments about Cones: 1) For the same room (ie. 1.5 x 1.5) using Cones you can have up to 60% more contact surface and that's key for heat transfer. 2) Bigger contact surface, in this case, means longer path to end of the Baffle what means more time to wo...

Easy, sourcing from his shop. Anything else, is unlegal."... How do you make a silencer without buying the materials to make it with?"

Re: Exact measurements for making a 9mm silencer
Sure, anyone can outperform this one; me too but getting into more complex/risky machining. This one is just one of the best you can have while still being in the "easy" side of the build (ie. porting is made using jigs and standard ball end mills, taps and shoulders are designed to turn t...

Re: Exact measurements for making a 9mm silencer
Go to the following Link and click on the second Pic. There you can grab some dimensions for a 9 mm K-Baffle: http://www.silencer-plans.com/shop/viewitem.php?productid=159 Using something like that, you should end up with a +-9 inches long Can, 7-8 K's and a Recoil Booster. Those use 60 degrees but ...

Re: are some fully sealed cans made this way (ie. welds only
Hi,
This type of Cans already exist: Tubeless.
Beside checking for the corresponding legalities in USA, it's plenty of them out there (welded, threaded, tensed, rigid, rotational, ...)
Best,
Paul
