Re: I designed a Silencer, tell me what you think.

Slap some borofloat glass panels on the side and get some ultra slow motion video. That should show how effectively the chambers get filled. I think it will work, but I also think you need to thin out the walls along the bullet path. There is too much solid metal up there that will prevent gasses fr...

Re: Aerogel In a Suppressor? Anyone tried?

 It might be interesting to put it on the outside of the tube. It would contribute some sound dampening properties, and probably protect you from getting burned by touching a hot can. Plus, it would make the suppressor look all blurry and ethereal. It is such a good insulator that your ...

Re: Keeping a silencer wet for extended durations?

I would never leave a water based substance inside of a can for an extended period of time; especially if the muzzle of the can is sealed. You're guaranteeing rust of the can and barrel. White lithium grease would be your best bet.

Re: Wall Street Journal 8 June 2016 "3D Metal Printing"

The speed is the reason the Delta P Brevis cans are so pricey. I like their design, because it is very much like one that I came up with, but had no way to manufacture. 3D printers are pretty amazing.

They also don't need an approved form 1 to build anything. They're authorised to build anything they legally can, in any quantity they want, as along as they register it with the ATF by the close of the next business day.

Silencerco ASR/Specwar 5.56 1/2-28 flash hider and ASR blast shield - photos added

My Specwar 556 came with this flash hider, but I only use brakes on my rifles. This has never been mounted. I will ship it in the factory package that one of my Specwar brakes came in, but it comes with no shims. I am asking $60 shipped or I will trade for another Specwar 556 brake, new or used as l...

Re: De greasing and rust?

Iron/steel needs oxygen to rust. It won't get any if you used Rocksett on the threads.

Re: 1/2x28 to 1/2x28 thread adapter?

My Lone Wolf Glock 9mm barrel has a square shoulder.

My issue is that there really isn't anything to stop the can from threading on further than it should, except for some partially cut threads where I stopped turning the die. I am just looking for a more positive and repeatable way to mount a can.

Re: Before I Rocksett my FH on...

Very important to completely degrease both the barrel threads and FH threads first. Just need rubbing alcohol and a nylon brush. After several scrubs, let it completely dry. Is this Rocksett from a single use tube? Got a vise to hold the rifle/upper in place? And a torque wrench to tighten 20-30 ft...

1/2x28 to 1/2x28 thread adapter?

I threaded the barrel of a 9mm rifle using a TAT to make sure it was concentric to the bore, but, I am now left with the issue of a shoulderless threaded muzzle on which to install a can, due to the small diameter of the barrel. I could piece a couple of existing adapters together, but it would be r...

Re: Before I Rocksett my FH on...

The shims are largely pointless, unless you are concerned about shooting prone over dirt and want to position the gaps in the tines. I mean, you're probably going to shoot with the can on most of the time, right? I personally spray the threads on both pieces with non-chlorinated brake parts cleaner ...

A) Tapco stuff isn't Chinese. It wouldn't be legal US compliance parts if it were. B) Their products are pretty decent quality, and prices are good as well. I recently put one of their new stocks with the lower rail on my cousins SKS and I like it. The mag well area has some sharp edges, but that's ...

A rubberized coating would act as an insulation, which would prevent the heat from the LED from escaping into the air.
